Rat zombies Idea

11 posts in this topic

Hi I'm new here.. and I didn't know where I could put this... so I'll write a new topic :)

I'll be short on this one, in any zombie game I played I never saw an animal zombie (beside dogs)

My idea was.. well we are in city full of zombies.. but what of animals there?

If you look at it like reality rats would be fleeing all over the city... some infected or some not...

I think it could be done in no more than 2 models, one infected and one non infected...

It would be fun to make some sort of panic event with them... or put a cats too.. infected pets here and there..

Maybe it's too much.. but really it would be interesting thing to see... a hord of hungry infected rats chasing you :P

It's just an idea

In our mythology, the co-beneficiary virus 732-ZH Encephalitis Lethargica (our "zombie virus") cannot mutate non-human tissue. In non-human mammalian species it results in lethal blood toxification and necrosis of tissue. The result is irreversible damage on the mitochondrial level.

What I'm getting at is this: in our mythology that we have put a lot of careful thought in to, animals cannot be zombified although they can act as carriers. The virus 732-ZH EL also does not affect avian species, reptiles, or aquatic life.

well it doesn't have to get in direct contact with living corpse :) but as a carier.. it could be interesting in it's own.. more danger for survivors :) but rats are everywhere in cities... so idea is based on that.

I dunno, I love NMRiH because it's the only zombie game (ZPS doesn't count) that DOESN'T have any form of special zombies/animal zombies like the bazillions of other games out there.

What makes NMRiH special is what it doesn't have, one of which being animal zombies.

Check out the animal zombie thread its mutated into more of a rabid dog thread to keep true to the nmrih story line.

But can it infect midgets?

But can it infect midgets?

They would be pretty easy to implement, just skin over the little kids and make the hobble a little more with short legs

Aside from the whole 'it's against our myhtology' thing, it'd also be quite annoying from a gameplay perspective (In old builds of Stalker there were 'Rat' enemies, but they were cut from the final game) which is presumably because people found them just annoying and not fun to fight or deal with.

I wouldn't be against animals in the game solely for background and 'decorational' purposes though (Like flocks of birds passing by every once in a while, rats in rundown areas) though that may not be possible seeing as there are already so many NPC's on screen.
