Some ideas

Hi people! First say that I'm new in this forum and my english expression is too bad be cause I'm spanish. I have some ideas for the game that might be interesting:

- Hard Core Mode: Survival and Objective maps with only fast zombies but low in number. I'm not thinking in Left 4 Dead. I have a idea for a Hard Core objective map. A building based in the zombie movie The Horde. Like this:

. When a horde of zombies are surrounding the building. The goal of the survivors is to reach the building sewers and escape.

- Characteristics of survivors: I think than survivors can have different characteristics like speed, resistance or force. Everything depends of the character you choose.

- Final objective map bosses.

A lot of thanks for reading this andsorry for my bad English expression. Good luck with this awesome game! Looks very nice.

Yeah I agree. I have actually thought about removing runners off my server just cause they are really annoying ( kids at least ). If you had a lot of running I would want to be able to kill them a little faster than we can now. Otherwise it would become to unbalanced ( in my opinion anyway :D ). Cool map/mode idea though!

We will not be adding character specific traits, skills, stats or backstories. It is entirely dependent on the PLAYER to determine their person's skillset, and entirely up to the player to set that character's backstory if they so choose. I know I do.

As for end-of-map bosses, also won't happen. It violates our core mythology, unless those "bosses" were instead elaborate events involving National Guard and/or regular zombies.

And I'm not particularly fond of bosses either. What makes NMRiH stand out from the rest of the crowd is its *lack* of special zombies. Throw in bosses and it's just another zombie game with nothing unique going for it.

here is what I think of when I think boss zombie aka what would fit.. but still wouldn't fit unless the map was made right or the zombie was made for the map aka it would be alot of work on a zombie that would only apear once on one map.(jsut a note to me a boss zombie is anything that isn't the standard runner or walker, consider the kid zombies sort of a boss zombie)

what I think

SPEC OPs zombie

decription: dead guy with full out armor

90% damage reduction from guns to following areas: head and chest.

50% damage reduction from explosives (spec ops have high end vest most can take explostions)

20% more damage, trained to kill mussle mass doesn't really go away

location would make sense: military out posts, or in hte middle of a heavily infested area (clean up)

FIRE FIGHTER

decription: still geared up to fight the fires

imune to fire

50% less damage from melee

BLOATED ZOMBIE (not really something that would be a boss)

decription: been dead for weak, is spewing gasses and strange ooz from everywhere

infection, do to proximity the large amount of gasses and bile just getting near this can infect

high flamible low explosive, if it catches on fire it will burn for a long ass time before dieing. Fires burning the gasses not just the body do to the gasses less of the body is being burned but its also heating up on the inside like mad aka after a bit it will explode rekilled or not. (not enough to kill but it will spread infection)

RIGORMORTUS (think I spelled that wrong)

decription: zombie died with a weapon in hand, do to its mussles freezing it still has said weapon.

note: does more damage than other when it hits you, if has a gun the act of knowtising you might cuase its mussles to tence and fire off a round (not aimed might jsut shoot the floor, but will draw atention from other zombies).

They've said that they plan on adding a few different types of zeds such as ones with armor on them, but I think a 'bloated' zombie like the one in L4D or Dead Island would be really pushing it.

no where near l4d this is a relistic bloated, after a sertant stage of decomp the body bloats.. also the one in dead island is caused by water absorption and is really unrealistic (not in design the body would do that but in action).

I still think a bloated zombie that has gasses everywhere that can infect a player is still unrealistic because:

1) NMRiH's actual story takes place not too long after the infection

2) I've never heard of a body bloating so badly that it starts releasing gasses like that if it's only been submerged for a week.

3) The only water-oriented areas I've seen so far in NMRiH's official maps are the sewer things in Cabin [never made it that far] and Chinatown's dock. But we'll have to see what Toxteth holds in store.

Honestly, it just doesn't fit. I remember them trying to keep to the Romero zombies.

1. for the amount of zombies their are I would say about amonth atleast, taht would give time for some zombies to decomp that bad

2. teh bloating is coused be gasses released by decomp, you don't need water for a corpse to bload(took forinsic sience in school got to see a bloated rat there deffinantly gasses coming of that thing)

3.bloating isn't cuased by water it can be but its part of decompistion prosses, its when the bacteria in the body starts breaking down not only its self but the body, lots of gasses and lost of strage liquids.

bloating is the second stage of decomposition

ssba told me it takes place in NY during the initial stages of the infection. So not a month.

un initial stages of a infection could be days or months depending on the infection. even so it would only take a week for some to become bloated, and I don't think something like a zombie outbreak woudl get this bad in a few days or weeks.(tomany people with guns)

yea because a zombie outbreak would create friendly neighbors.. society would fall apart so fast from looting and the 'asshole' and survivalist in people will come out. Just because people own guns doesn't mean the world will go out and play hero. And you're talking a city here, not a small-town where the closest person is half am hour away

Spec Ops zombie seems pretty iffy, fireman zombie or maybe a policeman or SWAT takin' the place of that. Maxx already said they're adding an armored variety of zombie. Dead SWAT/Soldiers coming back to soak up your bullets.

reason I said I would move to china or japan, in case disastor there is no or little looting, do to the structure of culture people are more inclined to work together aka even though there is alot mroe people there things are less likely to turn into shoot thy friend for beans.

off topic: why doesn't built in spell check work on thif forum, my spelling is bad enough as it its.

Uhh, I think you have the wrong view of those places. What you think about it or not if the world broke down in chaos then governmental systems would shatter, anarchy would ensue and there would be riots all over the place. China and Japan have massive populations and there'd be zeds EVERYWHERE.

Imagine millions of people without power or water and attacked by zombies. It would be complete chaos. The best place is one where there is no person. An isolated place. It would be a very bad idea to go to China or Japan

ok look at japan after the big earthquake mess a few years back even though most buildings where gone and houses, peopel where not looting and rioting, infact they still bought food and water even though the stors where rubble. yes the zombies would be a problem but every thing would stay organized and safe for longer.
