Ferals really are bastards.

I'm at the point where I need to move somewhere new due to there not being enough room at the church, i'm thinking either that walled off house in the middle of nowhere (there's a barn by it) or one of the industrial areas in the city. DECISIONS.

The Farm is pretty awesome, there's lots of room to build but it is pretty much in the middle of arse crack no where. There's a barn and 1 or 2 fields within scavenging distance but everything else is too far away to send your boys to clear. As for the cars they can be a dick but if you reverse them into hordes and zombies then they talk like a quarter of the damage they normally do so they last longer.

Yeah Ferals are bastards, probably why everyone in my survivor group wants em dead. Either that or they're all suicidal cos I refuse to give up my awesome cavalry sabre. If they were scared of flares or something it would at least make them balanced, otherwise they're just the insta-killing car dodging pricks we flee from the very sound of.

And I agree It does need a way to put rucksacks into pickups or something, even if it takes up 2 spaces or makes a bunch of noise putting it in.

I'm waiting for the PC version too, I don't have enough space on my 360 (saving it for the remaining ME3 dlc ha)

This pretty much sold me on the game though

I couldn't agree more with 15 minutes in. I am getting tired of games and movies where the concept of a zombie is unknown to EVERYONE. If I saw something that looked remotely like a zombie, I would be in survival mode and ready to take action. If i was bitten by a pale bloody person with possible missing limbs, I would not be confused on what just happened, I would be pissed because I lost.

I don't think I'm metal enough for that.

I apologise for ruining the game you were planning to steal.

In this open world Zombie themed sandbox game you can hit, shoot and run over Zombies.

Oh Jesus Christ, i've done it again.

Everything that's been said here you'd probably glean from even a cursory glance at official previews/reviews and youtube video's. If you're someone who was trying to avoid stuff like that, why are you reading a thread about the game, especially after it's been released.

There's little to no story in this game (of which we've made a small number of vague references to) and a lot of stuff is randomised. Had we been talking about some heavily story driven game and talked about characters/twists then I'd see your point, but it's like complaining because someone talked about the mission where you steal the car and shoot the people and evade the police in a grand theft auto game.

So, I was enjoying it and then it just kinda ended. This is must be how the average person feels about the films of the Coen brothers.

The PC version is going to be on Steam they said that already but the release date and all is still what I'm worried about. Just hope it'll be THIS year (or early 2014).

Yeah!

Undead Labs has disclosed more information about the upcoming PC version of State of Decay which can't seem to get here soon enough. It'll be out this year with the full release preceded by a gamepad-only version on Steam Early Access. The actual game content itself will remain the same, but the transition to PC will see improved graphics, support for higher resolutions, and an improved framerate.[/Quote]

Game's out on Early Access Steam for $20

Any idea on how well it runs? Is it glitchy?

Awesome. There's always been doubts about its PC release.

I was following this quite closely before it came out on the Xbox, then i got back into PC gaming and forgot about it. May be worth a look now, especially if the modders get hold of it and make it even better.

Shame it REQUIRES a 360 controller to play it on PC so far though. Be better on keyboard and mouse . . . .

(Sorry Riley, i know that doesn`t answer your question lol)

?

It's early access and a port from console. What the fuck did you expect? Get out of here with your self-righteousness.

I also think it's pretty bs taking this long to port it to the PC without even configuring controls for the system they're porting it to. That being said it is early access so anything could happen and I'd eat my words.

It runs pretty smooth. Smoother than the 360 version which never ran that bad for me anyway. The game was a little blurry on very high but seemed to run fine on Ultra oddly enough. I haven't encountered any massive hordes to test out the gltichiness with multiple enemies and explosions etc.It did get updated a few minutes after release and Undead Labs were pretty solid for updates on the 360 version (if you can forgive a few fuck ups)

Funny enough. It does boggle the mind how many PC gamers can't read. The amount of topics with "keyboard and mouse" don't work are pretty hilarious. With someone commenting "you would have thought the master race would have overcome illiteracy" which tickled me far more than it should have

funny how they release a game on a platform that uses M&K as a controller. Yet one of the first things taken care of in a port should have been just that.

you can laugh at the pc gamers who bought it w.o a controller, but you should laugh at the idiots who publicly release A game on a system that doesn't even work with its main equipment. Lazy?

In fact its like nmrih releasing on Xbox. But u can only play it with mouse and keyboard.

Early Access. I like to think of them as betas. Where not everything is going to function as it should and there will some stuff missing and lots of things being added in response to feedback and testing. Not to mention the team were bombarded with requests, complaints and (since this is the internet) threats about the time it was taking them to release a PC version which I imagine had more to do with Microsoft stood there like Darth Vader with hardware issues.

But the full release, not the early access will come fully equipped with mouse and keyboard functionality, controller and 3rd party controller support. Since I don't like judging games by their demos (I actually do, it's like sugar to me but I'm making a point) I'll wait till it comes out of early access and into being a fully fledged Steam release.

Try upping it from very high to ultra. I had the same problem and that fixed it for me

Ok so I probably need someone to talk on steam, preferably someone who finished this since

Alan's infected with the fever, the church guy died from it because apparently I didn't get an infirmary up in time (he died while I turned the game off and drove to the hospital IRL lol, what a surprise)

This time I think I'm prepared to treat the flu

It's ok for $20, I'm having some fun in it.

Most of my gripes have to do with the game getting a bit too easy once you created a nice base. The zombies themselves aren't much of a threat at all once you get a strong melee weapon and a shotgun (they're a nightmare indoors, but that mostly has to do with the 3rd person camera). I feel the firearm handling is a bit too 'static', it would've been nice if your aiming view started to wobble a bit. I wish base management was a bit more detailed and involving (all you do is build some stuff, and then that's really it) and I feel that there's just too much shit that you can loot off of (I don't get worried about running out of food or meds)

There's a bunch of other stuff I can nitpick about (it's an XBL Arcade title though so clearly it can't have EVERYTHING haha).

In the end, if you want a more mainstream survival experience that isn't too frustrating, without dealing with dickheads and people with issues, get this. If you want an extremely unforgiving hardcore survival experience that has more potential playtime due to multiplayer, wait for the DayZ standalone
