Translations (Part Deux)

33 posts in this topic

Hey guys,

We're wrapping stuff up for 1.05 and as a result we've finalized our English scripts for our new stuff (lines, menu, etc.) and I'm hoping I can call on the help of our wonderful community. This time however, I've posted the currently made language scripts (I know someone made a Polish translation the last time I asked for help but unfortunately we lost some .txt files when updating our SVN stuff) up on our wiki at http://www.nomoreroominhell.com/nmrihwiki/index.php?title=Category:Translations

You should be able to create an account and edit these at your own free will, let us know if you're having issues. Currently we have: English, Swedish, Spanish, French, Italian, German, and Russian.

However you can freely create a new closecaption_/NMRiH_ page for the language you want to translate, and link it to the Translations page!

Hello there, Riley.

I suggested on Facebook my help for translating the files to Portuguese. So, if you guys think it'd be a good idea, I'd be certainly happy to help!

I get a database error while trying to access the wiki link there. Rest of it works fine however.

All languages are welcome

Keep refreshing if that happens (it should bring up the page after a few refreshes), we'll see if we can resolve that soon

Dankeschön :D, saw your stuff in the NMRiH_german page!

If possible, could you (or some fellow friend) of yours check out the other german page (closecaption_german)? It's half way done but needs some help (mostly stuff like "X magazines remaining"

I'm done with Portuguese as well, but I have no idea how to create 'Closecaption' and NMRiH (language) pages so I can post my work there.

Minor changes:

- The reference text for "Weapon_me_kitknife" and "Weapon_me_kitknife_short" should have been "Kitchen Knife" and not "Kit Knife" -- I changed these two lines in all of the NMRiH_* documents, so whoever already did translations will have to re-translate these two lines, sorry!

- Added a note to all the pages that the "Weapon_*_short" strings should be no more than 12-13 characters long, as they are used in tight spaces where long text may not fit.

I'm done with Portuguese as well, but I have no idea how to create 'Closecaption' and NMRiH (language) pages so I can post my work there.

Just type in closecaption_portuguese in the search box in the wiki, and if there's no page there, click on "Create the page "Closecaption portuguese" on this wiki!" link and copy + paste your stuff in there; repeat for NMRiH_portuguese and link both pages here

If you're still unsure just put them in a .txt file or make a post here with the translated stuff

I've just made a few changes into the Spanish requested page. There was untraslated stuff and just some details about punctuation and accents. It's all ready now.

I dare to take responsibility and create new version of russian closecaption.

With all due respect to CrashOne's job, his translation is filled with orthographic and logical mistakes and wrong term using, that would be very itchy for the eyes of native russian.

I also moved an accents on things, and now it looks more appropriate for common in-game situations.

UP: Added new version of NMRiH_russian. Way more proper and elegance. Doesn't seem like machine translation anymore! ;)

Oh and btw that's kind of offtop and I'm not sure that you need it.

But I'd like to translate some other materials also, patch notes or localisation stuff. Just got plenty of leisure time, you know :)

You guys (and girls) moving on Steam, so good localisation may give you better response from large russian audience.

Hello. I was wonderning if you still accept new translations. I recently made a Czech translation, but it won't let me post it on the translation page on the wiki, possibly because of the diacritics present in the text. I can still send it to you in .txt formats (Closecaption_czech.txt, Gameui_czech.txt and NMRiH_czech.txt). I would really like to help, so just say a word and I will post the files here.
Thanks in advance and have a nice day. :)

My pleasure, i do have trouble uploading the files to the wiki though. I get an error.

Maybe someone can do this for me.

I've placed the two files i've finished on my webspace:

http://members.ziggo.nl/rdenbreeyen/NMRIH/gameui_dutch.txt

http://members.ziggo.nl/rdenbreeyen/NMRIH/NMRiH_dutch.txt

With regards,

Gringos
