Splinter Cell : Blacklist

gameplay

Thoughts?

I personally think that it COULD be good if they put in more stealth stuff than run and gun stuff (goddamned Mark And Execute).

Well, that was pretty retarded. Hell, Ghost Recon: Future Warrior had more stealth than that. Plus, he's the leader of 4th Echelon now? And he's going out on missions? That's so stupid. There's a reason why leaders stay back at base and have other people go.

Why do they have to torture me? I mean, its not even SPLINTER CELL anymore. It hasn't truly been Splinter Cell since Chaos Theory all the way back in 2005. The original franchise is dead, why must they continue to rape its corpse before my eyes?

I'll tell you why.

Money. Gotta appeal to those HUR DUR masses.

You clearly never played Conviction, it was an incredible game and many times reminded me of the first three Splinter Cell games.

I wouldn't say that Conviction stayed true to the previous Splinter Cell games.

I hope that this game will be more stealth oriented than Conviction.

Can't get over the fact that he lost 15-20 years in age and no longer sounds like Michael Ironside.

What are you guys on about, Conviction was totally stealth. There were just as many forced action sections as in the first Splinter Cell game.

I agree the end part right before the guy shoots himself it seems like the only way you could get past that is by blowing the fucking door apart... :(

Agreed the they seemed to get rid of 90% of the stealth compared to Conviction...

It was a great game just didn't give my stealthy self enough options (really? only one gun you can upgrade to have a silencer and a scope!!!)

Agreed although it looks like it's going in the opposite direction...

They got rid of him because he's to old/out of shape to do the mo-cap for the game...I MEAN REALLY UBISOFT!?!?! Just have another guy do the mo-cap and Ironside do the voice :(

If you're using anything other than the pistol you're doing it wrong.

Maxx, it sounds more like you never even played the original game or SCCT and just went straight to Conviction.

For instance, in SCCT you get a % rating based on your level of stealth. As long as you complete all objectives without killing a single person or alerting anyone you get 100%. Chaos Theory was so good that it also gave you the option to play the game like Conviction and grab a shotgun attachment for you SC20k and get grenades. Although you actually had to be stealthy doing that even too because the second you get spotted you'll get lit up by an AK and you die extremely easily. Why doesn't anyone understand this? As a video game Conviction was good, but as a Splinter Cell game it was shit. THAT IS MY POINT.

Don't fuck with my favorite series of all time.

Xen I have played every major Splinter Cell game since the first one, and each one on the day they came out. I've played them all. Even if Conviction didn't give you a stealth rating, I still played through the whole game without being detected except for the two or three times it forces you to get in a gun fight.

Also, I don't know what difficulty you were playing on but I remember getting lit up and dying super fast in Conviction.

I think I still have Conviction on the 360. I spent the money on the Limited Edition and completely forgot about FS's closed beta so I missed out on it :v

They need to do a first person Splinter Cell where you play a new agent, not Sam. Sam is like sixty now. He should be sitting on his ass, coaching the player like Lambert used to do. This new Splinter Cell should be like RVS3 and GR and the other old Clancy games: tactical and semi-realistic. Some missions should rely upon deception, where the player has to blend as one of the tangos for some duration while being a saboteur and surveillance-running smooth operator. Any firefights emphasize positioning and other tactical elements over reflexes and volume of fire (though those might be important in scant circumstances). The deal would be like this: get caught in suboptimal positioning against more than two guys, and you're toast. The player has to minimize exposure to fire, and preferably circumvent combat altogether or at least find less obvious ways of subduing enemies. As well, the guards should check in - and so killing a guard will result in a countdown until the next check in, at which point a tentative 'low' alarm goes out until they find the body. Once they find the body, then it's full alarm. That would make this sweet.
