Private Games?

5 posts in this topic

Sorry I know that this has probably been asked many times, but how do I set up a game where my friends and I can play? I tried setting one up, but it didn't appear on my friends' lists or they couldn't find it. Now I saw that there was a guide to make servers but that seems waaaayyyy too complicated to make a single map to play with friends. Is there a way to do this?

It may not show up in the "Find Servers" dialog, but can they connect using the "connect" command to your IP address? You'd need to set up your router to forward port 27015 to your machine, allow it through firewall, etc., and have them "connect <your ip>:27015" in the console window.

anyway to explain in simple layman terms? Much appreciated. We managed to find an unused server and occupy it, but connection was crap and kept D/Cing after a certain leg of the journey.
