Minor.

5 posts in this topic

I've noticed a few minor issues while scrambling around the streets with other survivors. Not too sure if it's me, or the game; please help me clarify.

- When you run too close to a comrade, you both seem to temporarily conjoin, or just get stuck for a few seconds. This applies to any out of the three maps.

- The flame sprites within the city seem to freeze after a little while of playing. I don't know if that's me, or if it's the game, but it happens fairly often.

- The bayonet on the one rifle that has it (forgot the name) doesn't make a sound when you stab an enemy. I'm not sure if it's supposed to or not.

- I have a crappy computer, so I play this game with graphics settings turned down to their lowest. A lot of the windows/floor textures on Chinatown/Broadway are purple, transparent textures, with a checker-like pattern upon them. However, when I boost the graphic settings, it tends to go away, so I believe this to be my own issue.

- On the map "Broadway", when you first enter the apartment building from where you're supposed to access the theater, in the door way of the entrance to the apartment building, there is a dismembered foot. The foot is twice the size of any normal foot, in fact, it looks as if it could crush the head of a zombie easily. I don't know if it's my graphics settings causing this, or if that was done intentionally, but yeah.

- Lastly, I'm not too sure if this had been brought to the attention of the developers, but a lot of the melee weapons seem to lack within dealing damage to any zombie. Not sure if that was intentional either, perhaps for realism, but I feel that is may be slightly unbalanced.

Any response to any is welcome as clarification for something I may have misjudged.

Thank you for taking the time to read.

- Up to 1.02 there are no player collisions, this was intentional. Players can "ghost" through each other.

- Never seen that happen with flame sprites.. get a video for us and we will check it out.

- The bayonet has a sound as of 1.03

- the broken reflections are bad cubemaps.. its probably because it can't render the cubemap at the lower settings.. But I think that's just a Source engine thing.

- Yeah we've always joked that the foot is a Sasquach lol

- Melee has been tweaked in 1.03 and charged attacks always do much more damage. Don't forget you still gotta hit them in the head.

Alrighty, thank you. Will work on getting a video of that sprite.

Do you get low frame rate when u play? From what I can tell maybe the gpu can't handle the rendering or maybe its some kind of safety that caps sprite frame rate to 1 fps.

Yes, I get an extremely low frame rate when I play, whether it be on the highest graphic settings, or the lowest. The only time the frame rate is alright is when I'm not outside of a building. Long distances really mess with my frame rate.
