Mass Effect 3

165 posts in this topic

There are lots of reasons people dont like the ending, but the most common ones are:

-None of your choices throughout the whole trilogy had any significant impact on the ending.

-You never find out what happens to almost everyone in your crew, and there is no kind of epilogue to state what happens to the galaxy.

-The Mass relays are destroyed in every ending, essentially ending galactic civilization.

-The endings are all basically the same with slight variations.no matter what you do in any of the 3 games these are the set scripted out comes.

its what i call a deus ex ending.

Don't know if someone already mentioned this, but concerning Tali's face:

Yeah. Put a lot of work into that one. "Hey guys, I removed the pupils and a few fingers from that stock photo. I'm going on break."

that really disappointed me when my friend at red storm was like "yeah our concept artist just takes pictures of us and draws over top of them and adds a bunch of effects to it". i thought shit like that was frowned upon at the time.

Sounds like Brian Michael Bendis would make a killing in the videogame industry.

Everyones disappointed.

They carefully modeled IGN employee Jessica Chobot, voiced her, infact, in the files, she has some of the highest quality art assets, textures, and such...

But for Tali, yes, stock photo'ed.

And she still turned out like crap...

Hey, I wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crackers.

But yeah, they just put SO MUCH EFFORT INTO HER MODEL and gave her dialogue for all the choices and missions in the game...IGN gave the a game a 9.5, no surprise there, cough cough, but Tali?

Also, the ending scene was another stock photo.

I'm curious if there was ANY point to saving the council in ME1. Seriously, I mean it's good that each race feels comfortable allowing the mentally retarded to be their voice in the universe but it doesn't help. The ONLY one who has tried to help is the Turian dick who through 1 and 2 always said reapers with finger quotes.

I think you get less potential support from the alien races (especially if you finished ME1 with a renegade ending by letting the council die)

For example, you probably lose the chance to get help from the Salarians if you choose to help the Krogan since by that time the Salarian Councilor is pretty much space dust and can't overrule the bitchy Salarian Dalatrass lady

I find it silly to get disappointed over TWO stock photos, every artist ever got inspiration and copied over something multiple times. Even if it is just a blatant copy/pasta its so small it doesn't affect the game at all, seriously, who cares? Why get mad over something so small and trivial? You don't get to see Tali's face unless you romance her all the way through, and its just one picture you'll look at for one second. Same as the other stock photo, its only there for a short while. By the way, who found these stock photos and connected them to the game? Either they were just extremely lucky or had a lot of time on their hands, but it could have been a Bioware employee for all I care.

I don't know why everyone's so angry over the game, it was a masterpiece, the only thing people should be complaining about is the ending, which I don't even mind. The combat was great, the story was great (well, up till the ending on your opinion). It's all just nitpicking these days, everyone's a critic.

I let the council die during my Renegade playthrough in ME1 but still got the support of the Salarians in ME3, just by tricking the Krogan into thinking I cured the genophage.

You can call it whatever you want. If I see a blue space baby you're fucking gone.

Welp, looks like you got spoiled.

I'm having a hard time finding a crew member that ISN'T trying to jump my bones in this. It's getting a little silly now Kaiden, Vega, Garrus, Trayner, Joker, Allers...pretty much everyone except for fucking Liara. The actual love interest.

It's all just nitpicking these days, everyone's a critic.

You are just far too forgiving m'dear. If it weren't for critics then things wouldn't improve. If EVERYONE just sat there and kissed a videogames arse rather than pointing out flaws, things that bothered them or anything of that sort then all we would get would be copy and pasted bullshit that showed no real improvements from the original (see EVERY Call of Duty game every)

Good Tali as well. I think they cheated us.

She said she was a teenager 3 years ago, and has a girlish voice, then she takes off her mask...and we get a 40 something looking year old woman?

This picture makes more sense.

Wow, they raised 35,000$ for charity to get a new ending from BioWare. Awesome.

That's true, but the pictures and stuff are just waaay to small time to complain about.

I beat the game yesterday, and I still think everyone's overreacting, sure the ending didn't really make sense, and it does ask more questions than it answers, but still, people are so angry over it they're calling for Bioware's blood. I'm pretty sure the end hints and possible even a sequel (or at least an epilogue).

"We always listen and consider what our community has to say. We have been listening the entire time. That does NOT mean, however, that we are obligated to respond, to agree with you, or to develop the game to please you."

Found that part odd. I mean sure, they could have a vision, and don't need to change it for us...but that seems kind of like a bad business model if they don't develop the game to please the customer?:P

BioWare won't admit to fucking up, but they did leak out they are working on a DLC called "True End"

I kinda find that funny. So yeah, all along it was a "Hey, we cut the ending and sell it to you!"

Pay for content that is on disk, then pay for the ending as well.

Or maybe they had a lot planned for the endgame scenario but weren't able to get it done even with the first release date delay (which was probably related to the final bit of ME3 being incomplete), but can finally finish and tie it all up after release thanks to the power of digital distribution

Obsidian Entertainment had the same problem with Knights of the Old Republic 2; they had a bunch of planets and endgame content planned but weren't able to finish it up due to deadlines, and were unable to release 'dlc' or patches to remedy that (it was in 2004). Fans were able to fix all that though, but it took 5 years

So it's either we get a great final endgame scenario straight from Bioware in the form of paid/free DLC that ties stuff up, or we're left with an incomplete tale filled with plot holes

Could have delayed another 6-8 months and it would have been fine.

Release a game when it's done.

Digital Distribution is not an excuse to sell an incomplete game and then charge for the parts they left out.

"When it's done" is famous in the old gamer industry...because you should ONLY RELEASE YOUR GAME WHEN IT'S DONE. Not finish it 80%, sell it, at FULL price, then charge them again for the other 20%.

Bro calm down, my first playthrough I had 45 hours played, I think that's enough to be considered a "full" game, the amount of effort and work put into this game is astounding, the music, combat, graphics, and story (well, up to the ending) were all well made and WELL worth the money. You seem to be forgetting the meat of the game, and you're only complaining about the crumbs. Bioware know the fans don't like the ending, they might be trying to fix it and now you're complaining even more?

Learn to use spoiler tags, thanks.

You seem to really have a hard-on against Bioware.. did they kill your family and kick your dog or something?
