Mass Effect 3

165 posts in this topic

The demo is out, and daaaaamn it is fun. Multiplayer isn't half bad, its basically just a standard horde mode, the main focus of course isn't the multiplayer. There is also a single player demo and it has two levels, the combat feels incredibly smooth. Much better than Mass Effect 2.

Origin doesn't really bother me, I just signed up and I can play.

Overpriced? It's only $20 more (in the US) and I think it has more than enough items to accommodate that price.

Don't you get a free online pass if you buy the game new? It's just a way for them to get gamers to buy a game new, remember, they don't get money from used games.

Doesn't sound like its Bioware's fault.

I actually like the multiplayer, it's relatively small and you can sink some good time into it.

I played the demo as well, though the multiplayer gave me an error when I tried to play that.

Coming from somebody who wasn't hopeful for mass effect 3 being all that great (I hate dragon age 2 with a passion, as an example), the demo alone has given me some high hopes for the game itself.

The customization that the full game will have is what mass effect 2 was missing that I hated it for (well, one of a couple of major features that were entirely scrapped rather than improved on). When I say "hated", I only mean in the sense that they didn't benefit the feel of the game to me. Instead, things like planet scanning (which was far more boring than the poorly done planet exploration in mass effect 1) made the game worse - that very same mechanic being required to get new weapons and the best endings was annoying to me.

Origin is something I hate enough to not have wanted to bother getting Battlefield 3 - but if Mass Effect 3 is as good as the demo made it look (and it wasn't exactly THAT SHORT of a demo), I'll buy it anyways.

It's probably because you don't have Battlefield 3. People who have Battlefield 3 has had the multiplayer part unlocked day 1.

Also, anyone wanna play some co-op?

Overpriced? It's only $20 more (in the US) and I think it has more than enough items to accommodate that price.

It gos for around £70 in England which is either £30 ir £20 more (depending on where you shop) The actual "Content" included is literally stuff that will already be in the game. I don't mind if a collectors/special/limited edition actually comes with all the trimmings. But 90% of the stuff in this will be a bunch of unlock content codes on a few strips of card. I mean they are including download codes with fucking silly little dolls just to try and squeeze money out of their loyal fans.

Personally, I adore Bioware. I own pretty much every game that they have made (except for The Old Republic obviously) but it just seems like they're taking the piss. Dragon Age 2 was one of the the ultimate example of cheapness in gaming, The Old Republic was a bog standard MMO and now all this overpriced content That SHOULD be included in the game in the first place. It's just seedy and annoying.

If it's any consolation, they're launching the game into space and you can snag a free copy when it crashes through your roof.

To be entirely fair, locking content on the disk IS only applied by bioware to small things. They also tend to provide a lot of bang for your buck versus most other games, though Dragon Age 2 is an exception to this (and TOR, possibly). It doesn't feel like they've taken the same shortcuts with Mass Effect 3 as with Dragon Age 2 - though. Dragon Age 2 had a one year long development cycle, and was basically a cash-grab. Mass Effect 3 has been more or less planned as part of a trilogy for years (since before Mass Effect 1 came out), and even though it might have changed along the way - it still should be worth it.

I am getting the game. Its sooo fun. I hated the multiplayer since its announced but now I can't stop playing it. Here the game is priced at 50$ which is good. I will pre order it in the upcoming weeks. Normal edition tho.

This happened to me before with Portal 2 PC where GAME gave me the PS3 version instead of it and another story I heard of Gamestop where someone bought a PS1 game and got a demo instead of the full game.

Amazon would be cheaper.

Dear Kayleigh

I know your name now and that's going to make it so much easier to masturbate to the image of you I've constructed in my fucked up mind. One of these days, I'm gonna cum so hard you're gonna feel it.

edit: Disregard that. I thought that was one of Noobbot's posts.

Amazon would be cheaper.

The ONLY store allowing sale of the Collector's edition in England is GAME (and Gamestation but GAME own them) Now GAME have decided that after having EXCLUSIVE FUCKING RIGHTS TO IT they don't want it anymore.

ah, statement just said "Mass Effect 3"

Nope 360 (which I am certain they only made 5 copies of for this game the amount of fucking cancels I have received).

I'm a sucker for Bioware games...regardless of the douchebaggery they employ (looking at you Dragon age 2 and SWTOR!) But I seriously despise GAME, they are THE shittiest video game store in the UK. They constantly block Steam games from release, mess up orders constantly and are just generally crap at everything they do.

Also Oops

I feel bad about not playing more than 2 hours of the first one. I really should get around to playing it through.

And Dragon Age.

I would highly suggest taking advantage of this: http://www.ultimatumgamekeys.com/en/game/buy-ea-mass-effect-3-origin-cd-key

I've used this site for about 6 game purchases and it works like a charm.

Deluxe Edition: http://www.ultimatumgamekeys.com/en/game/buy-ea-mass-effect-3-iii-digital-deluxe-edition-origin-cd-key

It always seems cheaper on here and I get the key quick. I have never had an issue. Got Trine 2 ($8), Witcher 2 (for $10) and a number of others for super cheap. I think I may use this to pre-order ME3 before the price goes way up. It's region Free and $41-$42 isn't bad at all.
