I have the same problem when joining or creating a server and it only started yesterday. I've tried pretty much all the quick fixes that people in the past listed.

Here are some of those:

-Logging out of steam with the change user option

-deleting a file called ClientRegistry.blob from my steam folder

-deleting Steam.dll and SteamUI.dll from my steam folder

-restarting computer

Also, I have read that if your using multiple computers with the same steam account that this may also cause an error, but thats not the problem in my case. The only thing I have not tried is reinstalling the game. Its strange, this is the only game/mod that gives me the error message and I have been playing the mod fine for a few days now.

Hopefully one of the fixes that didn't work for me could relieve your problem. I guess its back to the drawling board for me then. :P

I've seen so many people today with this problem, really weird.

Maybe a problem with steam cloud? dont know much about how it works but that's the only thing i can come up with is that it messed something up when it tried to change or fix something on peoples computers

I also have this problem. I have tried all of the fixes posted above. This is the first game I've encountered this specific bug with.

I tryed the steam cloud thing and it didn't work either, I to have been having this problem on a fresh install of the game, I have tryed everything including re-installing the game, starting to get a little annoyed been waiting for this for a long time and can't get past this stupid steam error...

Ok so I disabled community and the game launched and played for about 10 seconds before I got the invalid ticket message again, still trouble shooting, try turning off steam community for nmrih and restart steam and see what happens. will edit this post and update if anything changes, I am also gonna try running it in offline mode and see if the game will launch.

Edit friday 11/18/11 10:42 am

I just got back from errands and am still working with this problem, no new results yet anyone else find anything, I think I might poke around in the cfg files or something today. This problem is perplexing, I have 3 steam accounts and not one of them will play NMRIH I really wanna play this game, and if I can come up with a fix, hopefully it will work for all and not just XP users like myself, I'll report back when I have something.

11/18/11 7:43 pm I am leaving fixing this error to the developers, I really think it has something to do with steam cloud with some users.

I have deleted the .dll's mentioned above, have tried the log in log out approach, the change user re-log on approach, the restart steam, and restart computer, and finally reinstalling the mod un-patched, and patched...all of those have failed to correct the invalid steam userid ticket, so I am starting to think its an error on steam's side no so much the mod, I have 3 steam accounts and not a one of them can play the game, same damn error...It could be the mod, but I don't understand why, unless you have a maximum set number of users or something for steam or for the servers I don't know...gonna keep trying on and off.

soil out...

Apparently this fixes it. I'm gonna try it right now Click Here

edit: Yes it does

I know that deleting the blob for my situation does not work. I'll try the other option out later and see what happens.

Edit: Worked for me, I just hope this isn't temporary.

I tried all the above remedies like everyone else with no avail.

Then a dev told me to delete only the config folder. I restarted steam, re-authorized my pc via email and it works fine.

I dont know how long it will fix it but it is the only thing which worked 100%

The problem must lie in having to reauthorize our pc's

For you guys that have tried everything, this has worked ALWAYS for me, and friends who encounter this problem here are steps to fix it.

1.) Go to your steam folder. EX: C:/(x86)Program Files/Steam

2.) Highlight everything and then ctrl+left click TWO items. Steamapps and Steam.exe (Steam.exe is your Application that starts steam..)

3.) Delete everything but Steamapps and Steam.exe

4.) Run Steam.exe it will begin updating. Once you've updated log-in. It may ask for a 5 digit code to authorize that it is you logging in, go to email and get your code.

5.) It says everything is re-installing but it is already, simply wait a minute and restart steam.

6.) Once you are back into Steam NMRIH should be ready to play with no Invalid User ID Ticket error!

7.) Have fun! :D

Credits go to Paladin for showing this..also you guys should look at stickied post, because this solution is already posted by Paladin.

Seriously, I got the "Invalid SteamID Ticket" error too and all I did was that I closed Steam and removed the "config" folder from "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam". Then I ran Steam, logged in (then Steam asks authorization, so get your e-mail ready) and done! It works. No rocket science, amazing! :D

Thanks,

This has worked consistently for both me and two of my friends who I recommended it to.

Keep in mind you'll need access to the email you signed up for steam with (which you should always have) if you're using SteamGuard since you'll need to re-validate when you restart steam.
