'Last Cure' gamemode idea

I had this thought of a gamemode of where everyone starts of infected (but the infected timer is really slowed down) and the team have to do a series of task to get to the last objective of getting the cure. But there is a Catch to it, There are only a small amount of cures there and the fastest people to make it to the cures, cure themselves and the rest will perish.

After that the survivors would have to defend an area or call the army to pick them up?

What do you think of my idea?

Hi Liam,

I think your idea is awesome and I wish the staff would hurry up and look at your idea! Although during the run, it would be nice if you could find tools in random places that you could collect in order to create some kind of mini-lab and with all that being created, the players would have to go outside again to search for specific serums which would be located in sectors of a laboratory (Assuming there would be a map of a Lab). Either that or have some sorte of Boulevard with Ghetto houses that contain meth labs and such. :D

meth labs, I vote for this.

The cure is meth? Well no one is going to live! They will get infected, do meth, trip, and kill all their friends with guns.

But yes this idea is awesome, but would promote team killing...

Its a Great idea, but you should have a More-powerful variant of phalanx around if it does get made to slow the infection better

I love this idea alot because it reminds me of one of my all-time favorite games--RESIDENT EVIL:OUTBREAK.

meth labs, I vote for this.

Reading this gave me a good idea, you could pick up special items and then mix them in a chem lab to create a infection extender but has a small chance of having side effect when you use it.

This is a wicked idea! I really like this. It sort of reminds me of TFC level with the gas chambers.. How everyone would race to get the hazmat suits so they wouldn't die when the gas went off lol it was intense and that makes me think that this might be an interesting concept

Yeah how will it be fitted in? Maybe by map of choice? If you go to that map, you play that type of gamemode? Since this is a sourcegame, maybe choosing the gamemode will still be selected in the main server list. It does sound good. It reminds me of SAW III or one of them when they have an hour to get all the keys or some gas or infection kills them.

tbh its possible at the moment we have an infected brush all we would need is a infection timer on the brush

I also like this idea. My only concerns are:

-Players will constantly teamkill to get the cure for themselves, which will get increasingly annoying.

-Gameplay will be repetitive (as with my search and rescue gamemode concept) and players will swarm to the nearest cures, tieing into the problem of a large deathmatch.

-With NMRiH, what Ive observed from players testing (while I sit dead ironically) is that they are creatures of habbit. Once again tieing back to the previous point, plays will swarm to the nearest cure, leaving any unexplored areas of the map desolate and not worth a mappers time.

Other than those points, this sounds very interesting.
