Seems legit man.... I don't see anything wrong with the soundscape values.

Could it be your soundscape names? You are using "soundscapes.playlooping.<rpdxy>", maybe you should change it to "<mapname>.<soundscapename>"?

EDIT: Oh right, lopping sounds, didn't think of that :P

Hey guys.

We would like some input and opinions about some of the doors in the station. As some of you may know the station has a key system following the suite of playing cards (diamond, club, heart and spade).

I tried to think of a way that would suit the RE style and also represent which key is needed for the which door. The original game requires checking bare doors to find this out, for a co-op experience I thought a door carving would make it clear and less hassle for the players:

We are looking for your opinions, do you think these doors would benefit the gameplay? or should the original doors be used?

Can you look into your physics props, my PC and Laptop crashes everytime I try to load the map (.mdmps also say that the game's crashing when it's trying to spawn a physics prop)

Ran the game in condebug mode and it outputted this error before it crashed:

ERROR!: Can't create physics object for models/rpd/ruby.mdl

So I finally got the damn map to work (SVN didn't get the ruby's .phy file for some reason), my initial thoughts are further down in this post.

The good parts about the level:

  • It's RE2: Atmospheric, most of the puzzles are there, and overall it feels like I'm playing the 1998 game all over again but for PC

The bad parts about the level:

  • It's RE2: The map's biggest merit is also its biggest flaw. If you haven't played the original game in quite some time (or at all), it can get really convoluted and confusing on what you should do. Coupled with the fact that it's a pretty long objective map, it can dissuade or scare off some players. I got bored after 23 minutes of gameplay (That was the case of the original RE2, I'd play it in spurts for 20 minutes before saving and taking a long break)
  • The overall lighting is too dark.

Some random thoughts:

  • Can you have most of the guns and ammo boxes spawn with different amounts of preexisting ammo? The guns in particular need to spawn with low ammo since it's pretty easy to stockpile on ammo by unloading every pistol you find.
