http://www.hiddenpath.com/games/csgo/

  • On newest version of Source Engine
  • Developed by Valve with assistance from Hidden Path Entertainment
  • Multi-platform release (PC/PS3/360/MAC)
  • Not considered to be CS2 by Valve (and probably not considered to be a replacement for 1.6/Source), but a whole new game
  • Uses new movement system designed to appease both 1.6 and Source players
  • New weapons and items (Molotov cocktails, decoy grenades, etc.)
  • Tweaked weapon damages and accuracy (M4/AK are currently weaker, SMGs to be more of a mid-range alternative, etc.)
  • New and updated maps
  • Updated models and animations
  • Playable version in PAX 2011

What do you think? For me I just want to be able to play the game without getting shot in the head by AWP users lol

I have my greatest confidence in valve that this won't just be console ported crap. Who knows.

It's going to be highly competitive, which is nice because Source has all but lost it's competitiveness while 1.6 still dominates.

I think it will be interesting to see other weapons being useful, because as much fun as the AK/M4/AWP/DEAG are... it's a waste to have all the other guns that do nothing.

I'm looking forward to seeing some footage from the game before I get hyped for the actual release.

fuckin tmp, fn 5-7, smokes and flashes...and the knife. people talk shit about those 2 guns but with my play style they rape face. i'm not saying they're better than those guns but i am saying i got better results with that setup and quick footwork/clever positioning when i was on my cal team than i did with the standard setups.

CS:GO will fail ->

Marek ".PhP" Kadek is one of the players in seattle. This is what he wrote on Playzone.cz :

- this game is not going to replace CS 1.6, or CS:S, it is primary made for consoles, PC version is just kind of a "bonus"

- at the moment, the game looks more like HL2DM

- There is no recoil and there will never be. (because of the consoles)

- the game runs on L4D2 engine

- SourceTV is NOT a priority

- they are working on match making system

- new money system

- no kevlar (this should be fixed in the future)

- maps are simplyfied for XBOX style, less ways, most fights are close range

- Hidden Path (Valve only finances the game) is trying to make all weapons balanced.

What? This is Source's Condition Zero. It's not like it's the first time that they've done this.

CS:GO will fail ->

And you fail for not realizing that the game is in pre-alpha and subject to major changing

Unfortunately on commercial games it always seems the Alpha is really close to the final product.

It's CS and I'm sure it'll still be fun, I'll play it.

Dont expect any major changes :rolleyes: This game is set to be XBLA title. XBLA titles are never "so" serious as games.

Do you honestly think Valve would do that? I can't see it happening, sorry. Not without official word from Valve, not some butt-hurt gamer.

well in my opinion, recent titles have been dumbded down allot for consoles and casuals, I personally don't expect much out of this either.

but we will see

Do what? Its already confirmed as XBLA title, not retail one. No doubt about it.

I'm sure it'll be fine. Valve has never disappointed me.
