Films Thread

26 posts in this topic

This is basically a thread where members can discuss about recent films that they have seen in the cinema or it can be a discussion about your favourite films in general.

These are a few films that I watched in the cinema quite recently or so.

Source Code

sourcecode.jpg

Thor: Alright film, better than Beowulf in my opinion. End of Credits Spoiler

At the end of the credits Selvig has been taken to a S.H.I.E.L.D. facility, where he meets Samuel J Jackson with an eyepatch. They study the device and it appears to have a secret power. Loki, invisible, whispers to Selvig to agree, which Selvig does. This heavily hints that there will be a squeal: The Avengers (2013) I believe.

Fast Five: Some of you probably think that this is crap but it's definitely better than the previous four. So far on imdb, it is rated at 7.7 whereas the others are only rated between around 5-7.

Flops in my opinion, that I have watched

expendibles.jpgunstoppable.jpg

The next film that I will probably see in the cinema will be: The Hangover Part II.

I thought Expendables was decent, but i went in expecting it to be like it was instead of an semblance of an actual serious movie or anything.

Some movies i'd recommend to anyone who digs horror and brutality (but doesn't mind subtitles since they're french flicks)

INSIDE

and

MARTYRS

i enjoyed Sucker Punch and thought it had the orkiest orks i've ever seen in it. this movie was a lot darker than i thought it was going to be.

SUCKER PUNCH

the first time i watched the Ninth Gate i didn't really like it, but the more i watch it the more and more i notice and now i've seen it like 13 times and think it's a great film.

THE NINTH GATE

ninth_gate.jpg

Botched was a random movie my lady picked out at blockbuster, and now i owns it and it's hilarious. 1 more dead middle aged bitch in the world....big whoop.

BOTCHED

Botched-dvd.jpg

so yeah....willem dafoe's dick. this movie had some interesting moments and disturbing imagery...not including the aforementioned dangle.

ANTI CHRIST

antichrist-2.jpg

another funny horror flick.

OTIS

MacGruber was a lot funnier than i thought it was going to be.

Fuck. Someone should make a Beowulf film that tries to get more to the reality of it. Fuckin stupid Huns in Denmark, some Geats roll in off their long boats and fuck niggas up after laying a clever trap in a mead hall. YEAH YEAH

Honestly, Source C(h)ode is the most predictable fucking movie I've ever seen in my life. If you've seen any action thriller in the past 10 years don't bother watching it, it's a waste of time. It's not a terrible movie per se however it's so generic that I don't understand it's existence.

Let me put it like this, you saw Avatar right? You thought it was predictable right? Compared to source code it's the most original and influential film in the history of mankind.

I haven't seen Fast Five but I can probably already scientifically prove that it's a big piece of shit. Again why does this movie exist?

Thor looks like shit to, only saw preview but it was so goddamn dissapoint.

At least Sucker Punch was different, but then it was bad.

Goddamnit why does the movie industry suck so much shit.

I feel you. Movies today are rather pathetic, everything is imaginationless and if it's got imagination it's a piece of crap like avatar. I haven't even watched the movie, that's how sure I'm about it's crappyness.

They are making a new version of Total recall, just guess how I feel about it.

And look what those dummies are doing now, motherfuckers are going to rape my childhood memories with some computer animated smurfs film.

I have seen so many movies, too many too post in here so i'll just start with : Jacob's Ladder

A traumatized Vietnam war veteran finds out that his post-war life isn't what he believes it to be when he's attacked by horned creatures in the subway. Everyday david singer goes to work, and every day he's wondering what's happening to him. This description can't describe how good the movie actually was. I would recommend it to anyone who likes the physchological movie genre.

Donnie Darko, mind-twisting movie,

dyn003_original_400_595_pjpeg__61fda5d33b45dd534240dd91fc88710b.jpg

Great story, lots of mindfucking in your head, not knowing what you'll expect and then you're done with the movie and you still don't get it so you have to use google to fully understand what the movie is about because its so intense, i like those movies lol.

The Machinist was pretty good too and i'm pretty sure im forgetting lots of movies :(

I have seen martyrs too and it's awesome.

If you like french movies, you could also try : Mutants

Waitress is one of my more recent favorites; discovered a few years ago while channel flipping through DirectTV lol

Infernal Affairs is another favorite of mine that I found via channel surfing, before the American remake of the film was made

I would say a favorite of mine would be Memento.

Its one of those 'I've-seen-this-thing-twenty-times-and-still-haven't-figured-it-out' movies.

I would also like to pay homage to a classic:

Better then it sounds :P.
I enjoyed it alot, because most "big animal gone wild" flicks have fucking terrible special effects, this one is decent enought. Acctuly pretty good.

Again, better then it looks. The action scenes are really cool and its not trying to be anything more then it is. Check it out.

Ever wanted so see ninjas fight xenomorph dolphins?

just as the thought "man that alien likes some titties but it's not a real japanese monster unless it has tentacle like rape utensils" entered my mind, the fucker spawns a rape utensil.

i'm wary of Super 8 to be honest, but not to be a jaded douche i'll hold judgement until i see it. however...if a single person falls in love during this fuckin alien rampage i'm done with it.

june of last year...this topic doesn't feel that old.

recently i've watched hugo(slow start but fairly decent kids flick), puss n boots had some shit i laughed at and i didn't notice too much of a difference between the director's cut and the normal version of dark city...but i fell asleep in the middle of it. i'm finally getting to check out game of thrones here tomorrow.

Yeah, Hugo had a great opening bit, but then the beginning after the opening was pretty unfocused. After the story starts to shape up it gets a lot more interesting.
