Battle: Los Angeles

Just saw it earlier today, it was very well put together plot wise. The military sense of things felt very authentic and realistic, plus the actors actually knew how to hold a fucking gun.

Overall I thought it was very very good and give it an 8/10.

Anyone else see it?

It was great I think the way to describe it would be a mix between Saving Private Ryan and Independence Day.

in america we have these crazy places called movie theaters :P

the trailer makes it look like a revamped independence day, i just hope that harvey dent doesn't fly something into a mothership and/or program a virus in an hour to wipe out an advanced alien race that has wifi that a human being can connect to and then use fuckin visual basic to create a GUI interface to track the killers ip....

I'd love to see a movie where the aliens invade europe, russia or middle-east.

Ironically Aaron Eckhart does play the main character in Battle: LA, he also does play Harvey Dent in The Dark Knight.

Well the aliens attacked all over the world. Although that doesn't really matter much since it just follows some marines in San Diego.

Eh, I thought it was okay, it was really good except for the ridiculously corny lines, and being able to predict exactly what happened throughout the whole movie.

Even while saying that I did really like it.

saving my movie time for "sucker punch" later this month...for although i am able to dissect most plot twists easily i don't think i can predict a giant samurai with a chain gun, i probably woulda went with undead naziesque soldiers supported by dragons...that's where i woulda thought it could have been headed.

massacrman i can't tell if you're being facetious in stating the obvious, so for now i will just squint in your direction and walk away.

so is Battle LA a fun movie, all shit aside?

I thought the movie was great, the movie critics absolutely hated it, I have to remember never to trust them, I had doubts when I went to see this movie.

Also, had anyone noticed how they had the same alien speech from Mass Effect 2?

I didn't notice the Mass Effect 2 speech thing, but I did like the design of the aliens in this movie. They actually seemed rather realistic to say the ones from Predator and Alien series. Even from Independence day, for the most part it seemed like the aliens used projectile weapons similar to what our military forces use today.

By that I mean I didn't think the concept of that alien species was pretty stupid, this one was actually quite believable as their weapons were automatic and seemed to shoot metal bullets similar to what we use, the tracers looked very similar to what you would see out of a human weapon.

However, I thought that...

...cannon they used on the bridge that shot missiles in quick succession, had the missiles fan out and then all converge and hit the single target at once was freaking awesome.
