New Update, New Year

Introduction

Welcome to another update this time in "2011 VISION."
(patent pending)
In this update we have a couple videos, some new tank renders, and some never before seen screens of nmo_chinatown. First up is a demonstration video of our inventory system voiced by Dman757. Next up is an animation video of the newly made 1911. Before last we have two renders of some armored vehicles (abrams & APC) along with a watertower. Finally we have some screenshots from nmo_chinatown being made by Sotapoika.

Well LSR has been busy working on some new renders. Two tanks and a watertower to boot.

nmo_chinatown

A new map in the works by SotaPoika. It takes place as the name suggests in a section of Chinatown in New York. The map is still a work in progress but the section shown below is pretty well along enough to show.

good job good job. On the youtube clip where he drops ammo, he had to pick it up by pressing an key, or is it auto pick up?

Very kewl fellers! Nice to see that 1911 functional now :) and that inventory system... slowly all the HL2 shit is going away, I like it!

It just occurred to me how long I've been following this mod. I first heard about it when I was in the middle of Secondary School and I'm out of College and in the working world now. Holy bejeezus Christing fuck monkeys!

carry a round to the tank, use it with the tank and the tank fires and clears a baracade out of the way? XD

Is this game really a hl2 mod? It's hard to believe with all these new contents you're working on. I wish you the best of luck.

Yep, we're really an HL2 mod :)

Thanks for the kind words! We are doing what we can to shake off the Half-Life 2 look that most mods have.

yeah, or a .50 caliber mounted on the abraham tank that you could use would be epic aswell!

Maybe you can give an use to the tank by making "Hold" or "Support" missions. But I guess it requires a lot of programming and you guys have other priorities.

Is it possible for you guys to move to the Alien Swarm engine? Its more updated and looks better to me. Would it be too hard to convert all of the data over to the new engine?

Actually the Alien Swarm engine is a complete branch-off of the L4D2 engine and is actually closer to Portal 2 than L4D2.

The SDK is released freely just like the game.

I don't have any mod experience ,but you guys must be real good to make models like these xD

and really impressive you built everything from scratch,but maybe you can base your models on existing models? ,I mean there are like thousands of source models on fpsbanana,does it require original files or something? it's not stealing if you just use it as foundations ,right :o ....

abrams and bradley are nice but kinda weird looking, idk why ,been playing bf2:pr for years I know what military vehicles look like =D

btw it would so much win if i can kill zombies with 120mm canister shells xD

NMRIH is looking really solid, even at this point.

The inventory system works in a way I've never ever really seen in any other game before. Not to mention the look is minimalistic but with great depth. Loving it and am very impressed, guys. :) I guess the only thing left to do with HUD mechanics is the stamina bar (or whatever way it'll be presented)?

Models look fantastic. Am excited about chinatown as well!! :)

We would never do this, for a few reasons. We won't steal other people's work and we want to make the mod ours without cutting corners like that. I'm sure you understand.

Yes they are not perfect but they are exactly what we need and they are only decorations for the streets.

No, they released the full source code and mapping capabilities for developers to use. Some mods are already being created, go check Moddb.
