I'm sorry but they actually got hired for this shit wtf

First Valve hires the stupid DotA dude and now this? I might as well just give up on considering Valve a triple-A developer.

Valve recently ass-raped CSS and they took TFC and turned it into pub master flex game of the century.

They stopped being triple-A in everything but single player a while ago.

How did they assrape CSS? All they did was add achievements, Steam Cloud, and updated the score box.

yea i never really understood why people are crying about CSS. Like stabbity said, they just made the game look better with adding a cooler looking scorebox, acheievements, and steam cloud. Plus I think lots of stuff has options to turn off certain things.

Anyways, Alien Swarm looks neat, gonna play it... it's free. What else can I ask for? I believe Valve is using this as a experiment to see if the community likes this type of game. If it works out, they will probably make a buyable game.

i played the original mod for about 2 hours about a month ago and thought it was pretty fun. the only thing that sucked was the fact that no one plays it anymore so you had to set up games before hand in their forums. hopefully this will be awesome.

Hit detection is all different. You don't just take a staple of FPS competition and mess with it for no apparent reason.

Don't worry though, now you can get meaningless achievements and watch a kill cam!

I guess if you're in multiple clans, the whole Steamfriends = ingame name thing could piss you off.

I've always thought that CSS has had some of the better hit detection and collision performance out of all of the Source engine multiplayer games, seeing how it has literally almost nothing else to deal with since its such a simple game.

They fucked up the hit detection in CS a long time ago. I remember back when the crosshair was actually an indicator of where the bullet would hit, armor was considered a frivolous expense and Siege had a drivable APC.

Does Siege even exist any more?

Armour still is pointless half the time lol, you take two shots to the chest and you're down to 12hp, but you still have 78 ap. The helmet is the only thing worth while, as it forces the enemy to land two headshots instead of one.

I've been playing it a lot recently with some of my friends and... I dunno, even when I'm winning, I'm not having fun.

Yep, sounds like Counter-Strike.

No. Justin DeJong, the guy who made Siege, had committed suicide before CS went retail and they opted not to include his map in the game for legal reasons though user made versions exist.

Man, Justin was a cool guy, I miss talking to him :<
