I can't wait for tommorow

24 posts in this topic

I get to vote for the first time. I'm really pumped for it - I'll be voting for Obama.

Tommorow is probably the most important date of the primary (and honestly, probably the national election too, since a Democrat will win).

Obama's climbed way up in the polls. He was like 33% percent in December and since Edwards dropped out he's now passed Clinton by 1% (46/45). If he can pull California, I think he'll have it locked. That would be fucking grand. If Clinton wins...Jesus Fucking Christ. And yeah, I'm going be up all night watching the results too.

If Clinton wins, I'll strangle her. Ron Paul ftw, but since he has no chance in winning, due to these rigged elections, I guess Obama is OK. But he likes gun control, and he also likes social programs, and he also doesn't want to leave Iraq ASAP.

Question for you fine political savvy gents.

I keep hearing bad things about Hillary and her opinion on games, now I've seen reports and videos about how much sand she has in her vagina about people having fun by playing games.

But has Obama ever said what he feels about them? I know of one or two "Gamers for Obama" websites so that makes it seem like he’s ok with them, but I've never really heard him say anything.

As long as Huckabee or Clinton doesn't win, then I'm fine.

Right now I'm leaning towards McCain, but Obama wouldn't be too bad.

i am a gun nut, but even i'm for gun control. there is nothing wrong with the strict legislation of deadly weapons. there are very few illegal firearms if they arent allowed in the country in the first place

I'm not registered to vote, is it to late to?

I'd vote for Obama, I like his character; don't know his politics.

Anything can be considered deadly, mon frere. A rifle, a howitzer, a household cleaning product, a knife, a fork, or any other number of things. So where do you draw the line? Full-autos? High calibers? So-called assault weapons features? Handguns? Anything other than a .22SR or a 20 gauge shotgun? As time progresses, the bastards who originally *only* wanted X feature banned now want everything except pea shooters and birdshot-firing pieces of shit to be rid of. And that's the problem - people won't accept it if the piece is too big to swallow, but if it's bite-sized, even if it is deadly or harmful in some manner, they'll go on digesting it. That is the method of feeding these coy bastards have employed, which makes me sad to see my countrymen fall prey to it. It is of course not just gun control that those fucks do it with, but with literature, with free speech, with the internet, the press, video games, just about any fucking thing they can control. It always begins with a rating board, or some minor feature of something being banned, and before you know it, you're limited to Disney, church, the Babble - err, Bible - and BB guns.

Now, I'm alright with waiting periods, not allowing anything except hunting weapons (that is, bolt-action or single-shot rifles and single-shot shotguns) to felons, background checks, and even howitzers being banned, despite most of the above being nuisances. But that's all they are - nuisances. Either way, I can still usually get what I want, whereas with anything more, I get more and more restricted. Before I know it, wielding a straw and some spit balls would be more effective than using any legal weapons that are left on the market due to stricter laws.

People still get them, though - the rich and criminals. You see, one can still get full-autos in this country, the only thing is that even the cheapest (say, a MAC-11) will run you about $5,000, along with a mandatory license, waiting period, etc., etc. Then, of course, you can buy one from the black market, or you can machine and drop in a few parts in the lower receiver and trigger assembly, and have what was once strictly semi-auto, now capable of full-auto.

I like Obama, he's cool. He speaks well. And looks good. Not like a car salesman that can't speak English like our current Commander in Briefs.

notice that every civilized country in the world has strict, working gun control laws except the united states, and they are the only ones who lament about how "they don't work". it's the exact same way with universal healthcare. it works in almost every country in the world, and yours is one of the only ones who doesn't have it and you're pretty much the only ones who claim "it won't work", it's like your people are too lazy or afraid to try and are just making up excuses

PLEASE NOT McCain! We need someone who know at least a thing or two about the economy and won't keep troops stationed for a 100 years in a pointless invasion thats costing Billions...Trillions (http://www.democracyarsenal.org/2008/01/mccain-on-iraq1.html)

I don't know the exact quote but he did admit to having little understanding of the economy and lied in later debate when asked about the quote.

Go for Obama if its between the two for you.

Since my main choice dropped out of the race (Dennis Kucinich) I am between Obama and Ron Paul... But it all depends if Obama gets the nomination or not.

It's not a matter if they can buy them, it's the question of "what's the fuckin' point?" Protection? How shitty of a shot do you have to be to guard your home with an AK-47? It's just plain stupid.

And if criminals want to go through the hassle of modifying semi-automatic to automatic, let them. Let's go failure rates!

He's for the industry self-regulating, but government intervention if the industry fails to do so. He shouldn't do anything, as the industry does self-regulate and he's smart enough not to do something stupid that Clinton would do like ban videogames.

Gun control doesn't work for anything, except for controlling a populace. Fascism 101. As for universal healthcare, the reason it's not wanted is because if public hospitals functioned as they should, which the government should focus on, rather than raising premiums, there would be no need. The poor would still get treated, which they should, seeing as it's a PUBLIC hospital receiving PUBLIC funding (meaning taxes). The disgusting thing is that public hospitals must choose between morality and the practice, or efficiency and the business side of things.

It's not a matter if they can buy them, it's the question of "what's the fuckin' point?" Protection? How shitty of a shot do you have to be to guard your home with an AK-47? It's just plain stupid.

Television isn't necessary to survival, but it's not outlawed. Hell, for some people, television is a cause of obesity. But like television, automatic weapons would be for leisure, and if you want to kill some shitty politicians en masse. Which can still be done, but would be more fun with an M2 .50 than with an old Italian rifle (not that JFK was bad).

I still think there should be some kind of license or something, jesting aside, for getting full-autos, but it shouldn't be this tax stamp that they don't even make (and never will for importing/buying new full-autos).

If by that you mean the ESRB, I am of the opinion that the ESRB should be done away with, like the MPAA. They serve no purpose other than censorships. And that's really what they are: censorboards, only for regulating the audience rather than what is produced.

I've never heard of a kid taking his dad's TV to school and killing people with it. Nor have I heard of people being mugged with a TV. TVs don't fuckin' kill people, it's quite a stretch to say TVs induce obesity but if TVs enhance ones laziness why wouldn't guns enhance someone's bloodlust?

How many school shootings occur? Not many, right? But considering this is the third most populace nation on Earth, it is understandable that, say, they might happen more than anywhere else. How many of them involve rifles? Very few. Usually, it's concealable weapons, wielded by incompetent, unprepared dumbfucks. I think there's been one or two classic examples with full-blown shotguns (not counting sawed-offs), but only one that comes to mind with a rifle, which involved a skilled marksman (which is rare) using a bolt-action, resulting in about a dozen deaths, if I recall correctly.

Honestly, unless mounted on a vehicle, a full-auto is no more effective than a semi-auto, unless one is either skilled or is within five feet of several targets (which isn't a good position to be in anyway). I swear to you that if full-autos were more available, there wouldn't be massacres every Tuesday by some nutter with an AK - there weren't before 1968 or 1986, the two dates that outlawed all types of full-autos (foreign-produced and domestic, respectively). After all, most violence involving full-autos is affiliated with gangs, who obtain their weaponry illegally anyway.
