This is quite old, comes in at 5,538 triangles(not polygons :P ). Diffuse,Specular,Normal map + SSS shader in a game engine.

here is the high res Mudbox sculpting of it:

I'm currently working on a much better version thats more suited for animation(though triangle count is higher: 6,402):

any chance of a well lit shot of the textured model sans blurring and the like? As well as some plain front side back renders of the high res mesh? You've picked some very awkward views to show if it.

I did a quick video tutorial on how to UV unwrap a hand, if your still interested:

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?cxmxmeeoyh5 (15 minutes long)

http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?7xlpjgnmjvk (30 minutes long)

Not sure why, but both files failed to start, either with QuickTime or when I tried to view them via browser (crashed IE, and then spat in my face...).

Try firefox? :P IE sucks. this is odd a good number of people downloaded it, and no complaints of it not starting. Get the latest quicktime update? You can also try VLC media player(its free). I encoded it with H.264.

Never! Bill would never forgive me! :o

Hmmm. I'll check QuickTime when I get home and see what version I have. All I know is that every time I tried to open it with QT it would only show the command bar, no window, and it wouldn't let me press Play.

I just finish the sculpting, its about 3 million polygons. baked it as a normal map:

currentgenwa6.jpg

Since it was only 3 million polygon i won't need a 4K map, a 2048 X 2048 =4 million pixel/polygon worth of detail.

Next up, take it into 3d-brush for painting! :D

is this gonna be used in any form or is it just going to be a model? cause it would be great if someone can do an animation with it or get it into a game or somthing.
