i know there is a second chance system that i have read about before, but when you die, either for the time waiting to resurrect by the power of some random force, or the second when you sit and wait out, will you be able to communicate to the living?

personally i hope not because people would tell other people: "oh! he's a player-killer! kill him!" and then the rest of the people are like: "oh, okay, I'm a tool." or people would maybe spectate, (i hope this is also not implemented) and tell people where zombies are. i hate ghosters and tattle tails, i would love it if the microphone and text would be off for the living when you die, unless somebody else is dead nobody could hear you, only the dead talk to the dead. obviously you could hear other people, but other than that it would be like looking at a movie. no matter how much you tell the dumbass to turn around and shoot it, he won't do jack. since he's an unvigilant retard and he can't hear you.

i like the feeling of dread in horror games and i would love to be in uninformed of the state of my comrades, always in constant wonder to how my other players are doing, is anybody still alive? are they a threat to me? are they just around the corner? is my vodka supply running low? why am i feeling so unhygienic? did i just shit myself? oh, i did.

i think that you should just be able to see they're name, if they are connected, and they're ping when you press Tab.

I'm not sure if this is a question or a suggestion. either ways i hope it is so.

you ever play Hostile Intent? there was no on-screen indication of who was alive and who was dead, so teams had to constantly communicate between each other (the game even went so far as to have a default button for "reporting in" and "enemy down"). anyways, having to be in constant communication not only helped the team, but also added to the gameplay. if players didn't report in, that either meant they've gone rogue and you're more likely to have friendly fire, or everyone is dead and you're on your own.

i'm fairly certain this is or is going to be a feature. my only complaint would be the 'second chance'. if someone kills another for their weapon, they're probably going to come back with a grudge. i wish there was some way the game could differentiate the way someone dies (whether it was agitated or not) and decide whether they should be given a second chance.

I'm kind of disappointed that the rounds will be 7 - 15 minutes long, (i read this in another thread) i thought it would be more fun maybe 20 - 45 minutes long, or even 1 hour long immersive awesome survival, (as long as you respawn every 10 or 20 minutes if you die.) or even if you don't respawn, I'd still like it.

exellent, as long as you guys make one, i don't care if it takes another year or two.

Spectator mode is still...Up in the air. We'll see what's in at launch, but the idea of the player taking over a 'rat' or something of that sort so they're still 'in the game' (Kind of like how Arma and Arma 2, when you die you're a bird that can watch everything unfold) sounds like the best approach to me. That way you can't just fly through the walls to go tell your friends over ventrilo how many zombies are coming and from where :P

oh sick, will there actually be a bird model, or rat model? I'd like you to be able to fly and somewhat control the bird or rat, that would be awesome, maybe just the rat doh, it would not need animations because it would be quite small.

I still say you should rip off The Hidden and use badass Hitchcock camera angles with an old-timey filter and just have spectators be forced to watch through those.

Or make it even more elaborate and let the player take the part of Philip Seymour Hoffman in "Red Dragon", watching the game through slides with a disembodied voice behind em whispering "CAN YOU SEE?!".
