Weapon Suggestion Thread

Well, the kitchen knife doesn't make for a good gun either and it's in the game. The main thing that speaks against the nail gun is the ammo imo. Too specific and would just result in even more clutter/confusion.

Yes, knife is useless as a melee weapon. hahaha

No it would't... M16 magazines nor arrows in the box for bows don't cause confusion.

Ammo for nails can be represented as simply nails stacked one another, a literal pile of nails.

Edit:

Will there be an automatic variant of Ruger 22 or will Ruger 22 be updated to automatic variant?

Nail gun does not make a good weapon, but its better than nothing... Specially if you have a design that fires a nail at 427 meters per second.

You seem pretty experienced with nailguns. Care to share? :P

You should also add a semi-auto shotgun such as Benelli M4 and Saiga 12.

So I take it you've not found a Super X3 yet?

I find a nailgun to be pretty bulky, most nailguns I'm familiar with require propellant or an attached air compressor. You won't get 427 meters per second with a carpenter's springloaded nailgun, thats for sure.

I'm not really equipped to say this but there'd also be the localization between identifying the uses of a hammer and a nailgun. Several people such as yourself might see the nailgun and grab it thinking they can use it as a gun, then ignoring the potential use as a barricade upgrade.

Nevertheless if you really like nailgun physics try Killing floor, its got a heavily modified nailgun/shotgun ("Vlad the impaler") that has unrealistically-yet-satisfying ricocheting nails. Strangely enough its also one of the few weapons that have attached flashlights in that game.

Oh, there's a thought. How about making a LAM variant (like the carryhandle variant for the m16a4) for the glock, give it some tactical significance compared to the other 9mm pistol besides enlarged night sights.

Why is FN FAL .308? Not 7mm NATO?

Yeah that always troubled me because .308 is seemingly the rarest ammo for me, that or if I do find it theres only a few rounds in the box. Its more efficient to unload the FAL and use the bullets in the Sako or the... damn forgot its name--- I nicknamed it The Screw cause of it's bolt--- the military sniper. Doesn't help that they took the sights from the worst production model of the FAL series either, its like looking through the eye of a sewing needle.

Guns you mentioned use 7mm USSR/Soviet.

Its the uglies FN FAL I have ever seen in my life...

The ironsights in NMRIH are simply unrealistic despite their aim for realism, its far from realistic, it isn't even actual aiming with ironsights! Its putting the gun in the middle on your neck than realistically putting your face close to the ironsights near the buttstock and if you want to make it work even at that you need a resolution of a human eye. Well hell...

Who can afford a 4K screen, let alone a quality one with fast response time below 33ms without mentioning that dead center small radius is 4K while everything around that 1K.

Ironsights need to be realistic for rifles... Maybe M4 sniper is realistic, but that's that...

Use 308 on FAL and get your face butchered.

I'm pointing out some tid-bits that could use a few tweaks, maybe some additions that could make it more fun. But from what I'm getting from what you're saying is you think the whole game is shit because it doesn't have these specific things. I think you expect the game to be able to, for whatever reason, compete with perhaps COD Zombies or DayZ, or even Left 4 Dead. There are limits to what can be done in source engine, and limits to what they can choose in order to keep the filesize and confusion down, not to mention I'm sure the devs want this game to be unique in itself from other zombie games. Bear in mind too that they likely have to make all of this virtually from scratch. I'm not going to argue with you though, so carry on, I guess.

Why FN FAL ingame uses .308 Win? Because it is civilian counterpart to military 7.62x51 NATO cartridge and this isn not military FN FAL, but civilian, semiautomatic clone. And this clones uses civilian .308 WIN, because 7.62x51 NATO is not in gunshops portfolio (i have never found it in offer, i buy .308 win everytime).

Well, FN FAL is ugly gun in real life. Its "west made AK". Sturdy, cheap and reliable. And right hand of free world.

EDIT: I want one in the future. More common and cheaper than bulky H&K G3. And i am reloading .308 WIN :D

What you are claiming is simply way off from what I have wrote.

I don't know why the nail gun is a bad idea. I mean, if a zombie apocalypse happened, and I found a nail-gun, I'd probably take it with me and use it short range. You can make it take lots of space, make the ammo scarce and shorten the range; but still, I'd prefer it in the game.
