Weapon Suggestion Thread

1513 posts in this topic

I could suggest a few weapons and items I've got in my mind:

- Tazer

- Molotov Cocktail

- Crossbow (it could be homemade)

- Serbu Super Shorty

- AK-47

- Butterfly knife

- Kitchen knife

- Army knife

- A rock, a chunk of concrete or something like that (to throw or to hit)

- Defense spray (would work like pressing v against zombies but persistently)

So guys... What do you think about these?

different types of knives and other tools/home equipment will eventually be included. Tazers and spray probably not.

Molotovs will come in time, once they are technically sound.

I like the "continuous pushback" idea of the spray, though... maybe the fire extinguisher alt fire could be used for this (and dousing fires, of course).

I know this has been posted before or something like it has been posted but how about some sort of flamethrower.

The are relatively easy to make... well some are like hair spray can plus a taped safety lighter.

I have 2 suggestions for a flamethrower, one being a true flamethrower.

suggestion one

hair spray can and a lighter.

pros:

1.lights the undead on fire

2.can hit a large horde in a short time

cons:

1. must find both parts to use

2. very short range

3. burns through ammo in seconds (for balance)

suggestion two

home brew flamethrower(fa fuel can, some piping, a pressure valve, a lighter, and a air canister)

pros:

1. can be reloaded(same ammo as chainsaw)

2. med range

cons

1. goes through fuel fast

2.can harm the user in close combat situations(like a 2 person wide hall way)

This has been suggested before and put down for likely being ineffective as a Real Life weapon.

Also> Golf Club and Tire Iron

I'd say go with a 9-Iron Golf Club, good reach but not a whole lot of damage

In regards to melee weapons just some variant ideas:

* Large Pipe - Two Handed, heavy weight, high damage blunt weapon with average reach, both attack moves attacks inflict a shove effect of varying degrees

* Heavy wrench - Two handed, heavy weight, high damage blunt weapon with moderate reach, both attack moves inflict a shove effect

* Wooden Crutch - Two Handed, light weight, low damage blunt weapon with good reach, heavy attacks inflict the shove effect with bonus damage on top

* Brass Knuckles - Increased damage of fist attacks

* Hatchet - One handed, light weight, medium damage blade weapon with low reach

* Prybar - Variant of Crowbar, one handed, light weight, average damage blunt weapon with low reach

* Baseball Bat - Two handed, light weight, moderate damage blunt weapon with good reach, heavy attacks inflict a shove effect

* Juniors Baseball Bat - One handed, light weight, average damage blunt weapon with average reach

* Large baseball Bat - Two handed, light weight, moderate damage blunt weapon with good reach, light and heavy attacks inflict a shove effect

* Push Broom - Two handed, light weight, low damage blunt weapon with exceptional reach, heavy attacks inflict the shove effect with bonus damage on top

why does every one hate the flame thrower.. also somethings to note about it.

1. tehy are easy to make

2. if you live in a place where it snows a lot or a farm town(like me) you can buy them.

3. they where removed from military use do to ethics,

also got a Q why do games add fire based weapons that just light things on fire when there are ones like the flamethrower that deal heavy damage to living or biological tissue in an instant.

(I watched some military show on the history of them a week back. above is all I can remember.)

I think he's talking about the alien guns from Half Life or Half Life Opposing Force that are biological, or organic.

Back onto the friendly fire, making friendly fire occur only after you leave the spawn doesn't serve the ultimate point: TO CARE to gain back sensitivity! Or to help develop it.

Friendly fire ALWAYS BEING OFF will only further suppress any ability to regain sensibility. It's very important. There are many ways to influence the better and if people stopped acting like babies, they will just learn to cOPE... THAT'S THE POINT! You can't feel regret without making an accident! For some reason, it now almost sounds as though regret is good, but oh well! I still AND ALWAYS support friendly fire being on.

Ruger single six, or similar .22 revolver that loads 1 round at a time. Loads like a shotgun (slowly), and uses all that nice .22 ammo lying around.

Lighter weight, lower capacity rifles and shotguns. Single shot youth models basically that take up less inventory space.

Boombox - wouldn't this be the easiest way to draw zombies away? It turns on when you deploy it, and the zombies destroy it after a few hits. Though, I haven't seen an actual boombox in ages. Maybe one of those my cock stereo systems.

Rock or brick. A not very good melee weapon that can be thrown with right click. Or rocks as "ammo" that can be thrown when you have bare hands equipped.

Armor items that take up inventory space. Like football or hockey pads.

-Sig P226 or P228

-Hedge Trimmer

and special ammunation:

00buckshot: Slug, Rubber balls

7.62 - hollow point, explosive.

5.56 - hollow point, explosive.

44 magnum - hollow point, explosive.

I got another great ideia(as usual):

RANDOM SKINS FOR WEAPONS:

divide weapons in: slide, grip and all. then, make different skins: inox, golden, black...

and every weapon will be a different skins.

thanks

Fine.

This idea would use a lot of texture memory but in the future there will be overall texture variants for some weapons including the 1911, the SX3, and more.

I know it's been suggested before but with the current ammo system I believe this weapon could work as a "One use disposable" weapon. Ie it carries X number of rounds and is then discarded.

Simply put a Nail Gun

porter-cable-nail-gun1.jpg

A Stick type Nailgun that holds 30-40 Nails, does less damage than a .22 and only really effective up close due to lack of iron sights. It does however boost the speed of barricading. Once used the tool/weapon can be discarded as it cannot be reloaded.

dewalt-nail-gun.jpg

A coil type nail gun that holds up 350 Nails, semi-automatic like a pistol with a high rate of fire but extremely low damage comparable to a .22. Only really effective up close due to no usable iron sights. Can be discarded once used.

Here's another handgun which I've heard is quite popular but is renowned often as a "piece of crap".

The Hi-Point C9

hi+point+C9+3.jpg

Often criticized for its numerous feeding problems and and unreliable accuracy, the Hi-Point is still a hardy handgun in harsh conditions. The C9 is a compact handgun. It carries either an 8 round or a 10 round magazine and typically uses .9x19mm.

Next is something which I don't see too often in Video games but I'd feel it would be a great addition here, Pistol Carbines such as this one:

b_aa57effeaea3c9bc000a8c7fd56b5dc5sub2000-right-diagonal_8202.jpg

The Kel-Tec Sub-2000, a folding pistol carbine marketed as a top notch "Backpackers rifle". It can use a variety of magazines whether 15 round Beretta, S&W magazines or a number of Glock based magazines. Being a .9mm weapon however also being a carbine, the extra barrel length and addition of a stock would improve the .9x19mm damage and accuracy over range, being that the weapon can be folded as well, I'd imagine it would function well as a lightweight rifle,

so um... 28 pages. sorry i just cant go through to see if this has been brought up. slap me with a hammer if it has mmkay?

but a riot shield would be pretty awesome. it can give the whole "team" thingy to a new level with a tank that pushes the zomboz away.

bashing and pushing all day bro

Simply put a Nail Gun

I like this idea. I don't use barricading that much with the objective mode but this would be cool to see after survival is added. I feel like barricading is a little cumbersome, especially in objective mode, but I like the one use throw-away weapon idea.

I'm thinking the "Shawn 'n' Ed" Combo needs to be in EVERY DAMN game, so why not add a cricket bat that only spawns in the bar?

Also I was thinking (or other people were thinking) about these beauties:

Tazer duct-taped to a stick (you find the duct-tape, stick, tazer, and possibly spare batteries, BAM! CRAFTING SYSTEM!, but I digress. A quick zap to the head sends a zombie into an epileptic fit.)

A circular saw (various models here, can share ammo with the chainsaw, less length of attack for more range of attack)

Weapon mods (simple things like sights, one-time use bigger magazine, etc. Most likely found at gun shops (hur de der))

Performance enhancing drugs (Teach LB's and LG's about the practical uses of drugs! But seriously, adding stuff like PCB and Ritalin for kamikaze lone wolfs would make those idiots more useful for the time that the drug is in the initial beneficial stage.)

Head mounted lights (NOW, I know this makes the flashlight useless, but since you wear it, it can take damage)

Spear (It can just be a broken piece of 2X4 or something, but something that can be used for jousting)

Shield (Trash can lid, police shield, etc. if the shield is small enough, you could use something like the PVKII weapon system where bash-hit combos are more effective.)

Military HMG (MG-249) (non-reloadable, recoil that rebounds to the roof no matter how much you push down after 3-7 shots, can hold a maximum of 90-150 rounds)

Stubnose and wild west revolvers (Stubnose = runty revolver, and you can watch any good western and see at least one olde fashioned revolver)

I love the idea of the nailgun, considering its more of a pain inflicting tool (known enough people to fall victim to it) I would recommend it acts more as a momentary stun similar to knock back or shoving the zombies. Also the 1 shot weapons (pool cue, 2x4, etc) would be great in the same effect of just 'buying' that moment of time... or in some of our cases that comical effect of whacking a zombie with a really ineffective weapon.
