Weapon Suggestion Thread

Contender wouldn't be very practical with zombies. Lever actions and the Beretta Carbine wouldn't be so rare that their inclusion would seem strange. A deringer would be a poor choice for the same reason as the Contender. USPs are more expensive than GLOCKs, Berettas, CZs, and Wessons, so I don't know how common they are in the civilian sector, but it'd be a good gun.

I definitely second the M36, and while not the Kel-Tec specifically, something subcompact like a GLOCK 26 would be great.

The mod has everything to gain and nothing to lose by giving access to some weapons that people don't see very often, so while rare guns are mostly out of the question, there are plenty of common ones that you never see in games, like the GLOCK 26, M36, or those newer subcompact 1911s for off-duty carry that are so popular nowadays. And, naturally, my ubiquitous and obligatory suggestion for Smith and Wesson automatics.

Pitchfork would certainly work on rural maps. A switchblade isn't a significant improvement over bare hands against zombies, though. Nightsticks would be great.

finally, not just guns, night sticks are a great idea

RiotShield.jpg

would go good with it, say in game you could shove zombies, or run though a mob of them pushing them aside

I'd rather have a gun, but a compound bow is still realistic. How many people know how to use it, though?

theres more to that when you fire a gun.... a handgun alone has the 7 principals of firing which most people dont know causeing them to fire very inaccuratly... I learned for my Uncle who is a retired marine and used to do compition shooting. Plus yopu have to know what to press when you run out of bullets and when the slide moves forward it jerks your hand in which most people not expecting that would drop it and mst people might be afraid of it so they give in the the recoil and lean back both cause horendus accuracy

EDIT: most people wouldnt know how to pull the trigger correctly ... which you you dont pull it you sqeeze it because pulling causes your hand to move and they wouldnt know where to move their finger if the fired to the left or right which it take me 1-2 shots to get proper trigger control

Yeah, I was asking how many people pulled off the street could shoot a bow properly. Even folks who aren't proficient with guns can still use them to a point, but unlike firearms, hunting/compound bows require not only a degree of skill, but also some physical strength.

Not to mention, how many people would even have the strength to be able to draw the string back on a compound bow.

No bows please, 9/10 of the populace have no experience with a bow, so, a newbie to a bow would be better off throwing rocks at the zombies.

I'd like a Bow or a X Bow in later releases though, both a bow or a crossbow is very simple to use, it's just aiming the thing that's the problem. I have alot of experience with them shooting at distant targets and alot of the time people miss because they don't take into the account that arrows will arc over a distance.

With a Crossbow it isn't much, as most modern crossbow's have a 150lb draw weight when their fired so they pretty much fly straight anyway, you only need to make minor adjustments to make sure you don't overshoot a target. The only problem with Crossbow's is reloading. Unlike a Bow.

A Bow on the other hand is a bit more difficult to aim, you have to adjust to make it fly further, since it will arc over range. The most powerful compound bow I've seen has a draw weight of 80lbs when fired, it's longbow's and short bows that typically require some physical strength, with a compound bow it's the pulley's doing all the work, while you simply pull back the cord.
