Weekly Update - August 10, 2009

Welcome, today marks a red letter day! We have worked tirelessly these past several months putting together a once seemingly unobtainable goal. We present to you, for your viewing pleasure, in game screenshots! All of these images were taken in the map "nmrih_citylife" which was created by 2d_Chris.

First up debuting our to completed characters Wally (on the left) and Molotov (on the right) As well as a little flesh eating pet. Taken with the firstperson view of our machete weapon.

In this second shot you get a better view of how our flashlight mechanic works. As other players will able to see each others beam of light, shadows and all.

Next up you can see our in game screenshot of the fireaxe weapon. You may also notice a few unoriginal props but keep in mind all these images are of our work in progress game!

Finally we present you with our flashlight! Remember these are in game shots all the shadows are a result of the players shining lights on each other.

Amazing flash lights, will be very useful to cover hallways when you would to have to lower your weapon to use your flashlight. Your buddy can shine the light and you can blast away! :)

GREAT UPDATE!! I remember a while back when valve was talking about things they had to cut out of Left 4 Dead. One thing they talked about was that they had to cut out the other players flashlights because of performance issues. Its cool to see a humble mod team pull it off. Granted L4D is very hectic and fast paced but you guys said around 50-70 zombies so this game is no slouch. It was performance issues, however, that stopped valve. I was wondering how this game performs with the flashlights. Is it a more advanced feature or will this game run as smooth as other source titles?

Quite honestly there are no performance hiccups whatsoever. It runs like a charm and we're not even on a dedicated server, we're just hosting locally. Eventually shadows will be an optional choice, but right now they are always on and it still runs wonderfully with dozens and dozens of zombies on screen.

Yeah, like Maxx said, there will be options to turn such things off for lower end computers, but it will default to on.

This isn't a mod... It's a whole new fuching game usin hl2 as an engine... This looks better than some games...

Alright this is the first post that I will have posted in one of the update threads in a long while.

I leeched onto this community because well I wanted to destroy it bit by bit. Then I started to like you guys so my intentions changed from destructive to passive, as I just became curious as to the outcome of this mod. I seriously watched this fucker die numerous times and never once gave you guys any support or any real credence. This was just another hl2 mod that was going to die, business as usual.

So on that account I am apologizing. I guess I'm not asking for forgivness just letting you know that I am remorseful.

I am actually proud of you guys. I am very impressed, you lot deserve fucking gold stars on your performance posters.

SO!

Now that we got that gay out of the way, get back to work fuckers, so I can complain about something.

(I swear to god if you guys let this die again, after I just went and fagged myself up, I'm going to go lay face to down in a bathtub)

Anyhew, fucking awesome ingame shots but i was a little annoyed of the machete blocking the screen since i want to see everything. :P

And by the way, I'm heading home for the weekend on thursday so we got to play something!
