Watching this makes me want to

1. Play Metal Gear Solid again ;D.

2. Play Metal gear Solid 4 and play back the Shadow Moses level, which was amazing and was so nostalgic the first time through

3. Cry =p

Yeah the Shadow Moses level was one of the be st in MGS4. The other was that jungle stalking level. Aside from that the game was forgettable lol

I thought the game was amazing the first play through, and the story was nicely completed. But i tried playing through it again.... Found myself kind of annoyed and bored so i just saved before the shadow moses level to play through for that feeling. The original Playstation MGS never gets old for me tho.

exactly! thats why i started creating these maps, when they are completed, i hope to achieve the same mood and depth into the maps as it is in the game

You need to add in "The Best is Yet To Come" somewhere in the mod. I will LOVE you. Forever.

(As you can probably tell, I'm somewhat of a Hideo/MGS Fan myself :) )

If that song is added I will probably "jizz...in...my pants" lol. That was my very part of the shadow moses flashback level, just listening to that song. Damnit I want to play it right now but a friend of mine burrowed the disk XD

In the picture with the cargo containers (the room when Snake gets out of the mini-sub, while still in his scuba gear): the cargo containers seem small, if the item the player is holding is a knife. A real cargo container would be about the size of the stack of 4 you have there. Or maybe the perspective is just FUBAR in that shot, thus playing tricks on my eyes.

mgs_docks0042-1.jpg

A single cargo container would be a bit wider than just one (probably 1.5x as wide), and about the height of two of the cargo containers now, I think.

Just to clarify: I am speaking if they are the type of containers you see on cargo ships and such. It's been over a month since I've played MGS1, and I didn't pay attention keenly to the cargo containers... except when I knocked on one to get the "What was that noise..... UNG UNG UNG UNG UNG UNG UNG UNG UNG UNG UNG *crack* Aghhhhhhhhhhhhh"

Other than that, looks amazingly close to the game!!!

He's right, the cargo crates were much taller, they created a sort of wall system where the ones in the screen shot just seem like props.

This is amazing. I can't wait to see more progress, everything is perfect, the textures of the armory are nice too.

Makes me want to

*Knock Knock*

"Huh? WHAT WAS THAT NOISE!"

"Oh. It's just a box!"

If he could seriously code, texture, and implement the box as an item, and you can use it. That'd be the most amazing thing ever. Makes you think back to those codec calls. "Of course, I can't begin to count the number of agents whose lives were saved by a cardboard box..."

and of course

"Don't think of it as another box. Treat it with love.. Don't be rough, Okay?"

I've been playing through all the games, and I have to say Twin Snakes is complete shit compared to the original for Playstation.

The voice actors have changed, the original music and flood ambiance are gone.

The cut scenes are pretty.

That's about it.

Grr.

Call it "Plastic Cog Liquid: Source," or something similar.

Constructive Criticism:

Scaling for Pic 1: Should be a longer run to the door that leads into the Nuclear Warheads room, that slant was much longer.

Scaling for 2nd last pic: Room was much smaller, the danger of that boss was the possibility of hitting the detonation wires. Make it very cramped and not as tall.

Nuke Room: Add more Nukes adjacent to the one you have by the stairs. It looks a little empty.

Everything looks amazing though, very well done. I love looking through your work. You picked the right textures for nearly everything.
