Hello fellow zombie lovers i come in a quest to find the best zombie mod out there! i have fallowed quite a few to name a few i fallowed zombie master,Dead(it has died),and but of course zombie panic:source. So i have some questions to ask about this mod (i read the about link on the main page but it didnt satisfy me!)

1.Are all zombies AI zombies? or do they mix the real players with the npc's?

2.is the weapon system similar to the one in zombie panic source(you start with a pistol/melee weapons and find better guns,melee weapons and ammo along the way)

3.How long has this mod been in the making?

4.How far along is it?

5.was there a previous no more room in hell?(i assume not but i just want to make sure)

6. can the AI zombies jump and crouch into vents and tight spaces?

7. whats this i hear about a Bible? would that be like a more in depth explanation of things?

I would like to say thank you to anyone who answers any or all of these questions! I would also like to wish the dev team best of luck for the modd awards(i voted for you guys!!!)

2. I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure you won't start with a pistol, maybe a melee weapon.

4. With Pongles, lots of progress has been made. And there are some amazing models and maps that have been brewing for years.

5. Nope

6. I highly doubt it.

7. The Bible was a sort of outline of what was planned for the mod, but a) it hasn't been updated in years and B) it wasn't transferred when we switched forums, so it's not available.

Nope, it'll be done when it's done. Though most of the community is expecting a release sometime next year.

When we say next year, we mean next year after the next year after next year.

Just kidding, No, really, theres been talk of a whole load of progress being made lately, check the news posts for the crap load of screenshots that just came out.

To elaborate using my old information which may now be obsolete... (I need to keep mentioning that or else people may assume otherwise):

1. All AI. Originally there was going to be a mix, but I argued against it. My ascertation to date is no human being alive can act like a real zombie because we have brains. Zombies don't. Case in point, the zombie players in "Urban Dead" kick ass because they coordinate via forums and voice-over-net software. They are zombies with advanced military training and tactics. It makes me sad whenever I see that happen, but it's a fact of life for UD, but it didn't have to be one for NMRiH. Coleman eventually agreed with me, and there you have it. AI zombies who really are as stupid/feral as we want them to be.

2. Varied from map to map. Some maps start players off with weapons, others start them with none forcing them to scrounge them up ASAP. An example of the former, would be the map "Last Stand" (or "Final Stand", if it was renamed). That was supposed to be a simple trainer map for new players. You started off as a rookie cop, with other NPC cops, and were armed with a handgun, ammo, and a police baton (back-up melee weapon). Not to mention a SWAT van with extra ammo and an ambulance with first-aid kits (FAKs). An example of the later... hmmm. I don't think one was formally set for this, but I could see "The Harvest" starting that way, or there was an old map I had designed that had only a few melee weapons scattered about, forcing the players to use the environment as a weapon (dropping pipes/crates, pushing heavy barrels off platforms, electricity, propane gas pipes + open flame, ect).

3. Years is right. I think I originally joined up in 2005, left in 2006-ish.

4. It sounds like Pongles is pretty amazing. He must have joined some time after I left. Back in the day when we still hand-drew everything... as such I have no estimate.

5. No.

6. In this order: no, no, but yes. Zombies cannot jump or crouch, but a zombie without one or more legs will crawl. A crawling zombie could potentially follow a player or NPC into a vent. Of course there was talk about allowing zombies to climb up objects, like vehicles, to attack players trying to take the "high ground". Zombies were not supposed to be able to climb ladders though (too much coordination involved).

7. As explained above. I originally revamped it as a series of discussion threads in the Team forum section. Later when I left I think additional changes were made and they used them as part of the design guidelines.

No prob. Reading over my answers though I think I made one minor miscalculation. I forgot there were two types of zombies, fresh corpses ("runners") and decayed corpses ("shamblers"). Shamblers, who shuffle around, walking after players and NPCs, cannot do anything more than walk and climb (objects). Runners though I believe could jump and run. I don't believe they could sprint, so a player could try to outpace them with that, but then no one can sprint forever.

yeah i heard about that from some one while playing Zombie panic source XD just wondering but why did you leave the team?

Two reasons. The first was that my services were not in high demand by that stage in the project, as I was assisting with 2D level design/layout and mostly organization. Hardly key components to the mod's development once all the maps had been decided. The second was that I had requests from others to assist them with another project, albeit not a mod, but rather work on a developing wiki. As the wiki-work was fresh and new I felt they could benefit from my assistance. Of course that was a while back and now I wanted to come back here to see how everything had progressed. I have once again offered my services to the team, if they need them, although in all honesty the only services I think are relevant are potentially those I could provide working on the website and forum. As it stands though I'm still waiting to hear back from them, so for now I'm hanging around the main forum.

This Mod woops Zp:s even though this has not come out yet this is going to have a better game play aspect

I loled all over that first line! I know it really isn't that funny but I can find stupid things really funny!

I actually have good hopes for NMRiH, not hopeless hopes. I really look forward to it. My older would LOVE it... and if he'd love something such as a mod for HL2, that means it's really good because he hates player-controlled zombies. I agree. Zombies shouldn't be so smart as to talk and use tactics and stuff.
