Just make what you posted in the picture! :)

A mansion would actually be hard to make good but making a map with snowy windy sounds and snow everywhere would be lovely!

Something akin to a City map in the late stages of the very first Zombie outbreak.

Players would have to get to Point A, B, C and D. Why so many stop points, because sometimes the longer it goes, it gets more interesting and besides most maps today that utilize the basic Point A to Point B are rather bland.

However I'd like a map that throws around the Player Spawns, IE so you never spawn in a Big Group of people, you always get spawned off with only two or three other people.

Players would probably start in a less frequently known places such as Warehouse's, Apartments, Office Buildings and even on the bare street. They would either meet up altogether in one spot or split up into smaller groups taking different paths.

When I said before about reaching Points A, B, C and D, A would be the starting location, whereas B and C would be akin to checkpoints, a place where players can restock on health and ammo and perhaps ward off a horde of zombies to make it easier to get to point D, the exit point. Obviously this type would be best as an Escape map.

The Checkpoints would probably be Police Blockades that previously came under siege by Zombies, or they could be a Building that other unlucky survivors were barricaded in until Zombies ran in and killed everyone, leaving behind weapons, items and ammo, as well maybe their former occupants, albeit dead or in pieces. These checkpoints could be used as a barriers, when you reach one, you have to fight off a horde before you can advance or not, but doing so will make it harder when you reach the next checkpoint.

Point D would probably be a Military Blockade or a Military Checkpoint with a waiting Evac chopper or Truck and loaded with Military weapons for you to defend against a Horde for X amount of time before you can leave. Probably 2 minutes tops before everyone climbs into the truck and leaves.

Either that or a Spooky Forest with Fog and Rain, not knowing where the hell your going. Something similar to Zombieforest that was made for Gmod, man that map was spooky

I like the idea. Maybe I could apply those checkpoint ideas to a forest map. That would be pretty awesome. And with the new foliage from episode 2, it would look freaking awesome.

Not only there are points to go to from A to B to C and to D but there can also be missions like how a video game plays out like so:

You're in the snowy city, you're first thing to do is find a place safe from zombies. Then, at that point, which might be point A, doesn't have food or weapons, so you must find a way out and find a place with good things to use as weapons and find a food storage. Point B would be the next place to find with weapons, at least, no food. The food won't matter, it's just a mission for realism because once you finally have weapons and food, you can just live there for a while so the map would be complete if you find food.

After finding point B, you have a mission to spray "Alive in Here" or something, then you can code in a point to where tons of zombies all around are trying to come in and y'all barricade yourselves. Everyone would be shooting zombies, bashing them as they come in through breakpoints. You can code in a point where the zombies just break through everything and there is hopelessness for everyone's survival. Then, the cops, army, or SWAT comes in and saves everyone.

But the map still isn't over with... Zombies in the city will still be coming in and the SWAT would be shooting them down but they soon become over run, this is the time where you grab their weapons and run, running to point C, where there are less zombies anywhere. Now, you can finally use your unwasted ammo from the guns on zombies that should be killed in some other place where y'all are still looking for food storage. At this point, I would put runners or something since y'all have high-powered SWAT rifles and pistols. Shufflers and runners, I would say. After figuring out that that building was clear of food and stuff, you must make a break for point D where there are many shufflers and runners around. Y'all would be running and shooting as y'all run to a grocery store or a Circle K gas station or something where there's food. Once y'all reach point D, you've got food but there is a problem: the zombies know where y'all are at. So, then, I guess, you have to code in: "if player moves to this point"(which would be picking up food) then "remove food from the shelves" to resemble that you picked up the food. You must pick up all the food to move to point E. After getting enough food, y'all leave, running from the zombies, and you can make up an ending for the map...

I'd rather go for beauty in a map with great ambience and missions, then anything in any map though...

What would be real nice is a city in the same vein as I Am Legend's portrayal of New York. You know... broken cars congested in the streets, moss covering the pavements, not really any corpses, that sort of thing. It gave off a truly eerie vibe.

Yea that atmosphere looks amazing. I need to see that movie first though.

I really like the city idea with multiple objectives. I would just need to make it different enough from City of Dawn.

Ive been thinking about mapping a costco or sams club or something along those lines I think that would be awesome to have to cover the entryways and stuff and thinking about playing in one of these kinds of places just sounds completely awesome and fun....seems like there would be a lot of running down aisles while fighting off zombies.............. that would be just plain fun as hell in my opinion. Also ive been thinking about finishing up the replica of paridise plaza from Dead Rising. I just looked at what I had gotten done before i restored my computer and i was thinking about decompiling it and getting back to work on it.

Could make a Hunter: The Reckoning re-make map by first making it like the game by giving us tons of ammo and weapons and at teh same time, have zombies spawn 10-20 ft in front and behind our backs as we go down the city streets, shooting at zombies until we reach the park where we're suppose to enter a graveyard... but the city itself is big enough and the graveyard is the next level so you might as well map a city, give lots of ammo, zombie spawns in many locations, and the ending is at a graveyard.

If you've ever played Hunter: The Reckoning, it's a really awesome zombie game when up to 4 people at once can play the main game and you just shoot up many zombies at once. Literally, like 50 zombies at once with a machine gun. I've had great times having zombies surrounding me in the middle of them all as I... SPIN AROUND SHOOTING LIKE CRAZY... so much fun...

If you liked Hunter: The Reckoning, I highly encourage you to remake the first level of that game! :)

Only problem is that having a ton of weapons and ammo, spinning around firing at a horde of zombies isn't the aim for this game. I am leaning towards a city map though.

A city map would be good so long as its different from the city of dawn.

Yea I said that earlier, too. I would need to spend a little time thinking of things to make it different. And go through the youtube video of city of dawn to know what not to do.

shouldnt be to hard City of dawn just looks like a couple blocks of a quarantined area thats basically all you need to know...Just make it a different layout with LOTS of detail.. And you should be good to go.

And there's no way I would be able to make a map as big as City of Dawn because I am ADD to the max when it comes to finishing maps.

So I think I finally decided on a theme/setting/story.

An airport map where you have to find a pilot that's barricading himself in somewhere, then escort him to a plane and hold off zombies till you can take off.

I'm trying to make a map as big as City of Dawn. That's why I bought 1GB RAM to speed up things a little until I get my new computer in 2-3 months. :)

Just make sure you fill it with enough props and for God's sake, optimize. A map that big with poor optimization won't run very well.
