I'd hate for my first post to be so negative, but here it goes. First off, I discovered No More Room in Hell in the Summer of 2006. I frequently visited the site, and remembered frequent forum members stating the mod was very close to release. However as the months passed by, with no huge developments made, I came to the site less and less, eventually losing all interest.

I did pop in during special occasions, such as the release of zombie master and zombie panic, the respective competition. I actually was happy you guys found a coder from the insurgency mod team, who proved himself more than capable of wrapping things up. So once again the mod faded into the back of my mind. It wasn't until recently that I happened by chance to stumble across NMRiH, and it was almost like a kick in the balls, that the mod was leaked and Pongles was unable to work on the mod, though never officially leaving the team.

I know you are doing the best you can, and that times are tough: But from an average fan's point of view, and my discussions with members of the steam community they are skeptic that this project will ever wrap up :( NMRiH is the first zombie source mod, and will be the last one released. I do feel bad about the set of circumstances, because NMRiH is poised to be in my honest opinion to be the best source mod out there. However, it may be that ambition that kills the mod in the end.

My fear is that if the mod does release, Left 4 Dead will essentially lessen the potential playerbase of NMRiH. Look at what happened to Fortress Forever: A solid enough mod, but with only a few devoted fans. Maybe because it shipped like two days before the Team Fortress 2 Beta released? So I do wish the best of luck to you the developers, and do hopefully find the coder you seek, and thank you for all the hard work you have already done in light of all the problems you have encountered in the past 5 years.

Its okay to feel like that, most of us do. I used to follow this mod religiously, and while I still hope it ends up being a great mod, I check the site a lot less often than I used to. Just put it in the back of your mind, and if/when it gets released, it will be a nice surprise :)

Still the frequent forum users are probably a big moral boost to the developers. I know I wouldn't want to work on a project, if it seemed no one cared. Not me of course, with all my doom and gloom prophecy mumbo jumbo. Unrelated, I visited the Zombie Master site the other day, and I think most of their team split (Or so I heard), and rumor has it this will be the last patch. Tough times for everyone I guess.

That's pretty much how it is, it sucks and I wish we were setup to release some decent media, start beta testing and ramp up for release - it's just unfortunate the shit hit the fan (again) and now it's clogged. The team generally doesn't bicker about much with most being aged 20+ and having successful mod/map experiences in the past, so things remain productive - as long as the mod moves forward. That's the issue really, the whole team works well as long as the guy next to him is on the ball. With the coder issue, it's raped motivation and slowed things right down.

We'll get it back though :D, just wish I had better news for you lot right now... these kind of posts bother me because NMRiH is never as straight forward as everyone would like it to be, would be amazing if it was. Don't like to disappoint. :/.

Appreciate the support though, especially with L4D on our doorstep. NMRiH should be a different enough experience to L4D for fans to enjoy both, if not so exciting from release, then hopefully we can shape it into something special with a bit of feedback. Best thing to do if you just want to play the mod is do as Copet says and check the site every now and then, otherwise engage in some random banter, the more random the better seemingly :P.

Anyway I typed a lot and probably didn't say much, I iZ just soundz u C .

we really need to try and get moddb in on the situation and post a news item or something. I fear that if we dont get a coder soon its game over the mod will die, and that would piss me off because NMRiH has so much potental.

To those who know someone who can code please send them our cries of anguish at the loss of pongles!

modding Left4Dead would be a nice idea since it has all the zombie elements in place, but that would still require a programmer ;)

If they decide to give up on the project. They should at least give all their content to like another mod team (INS team?) To finish it?

I think that has already been discussed.

No?

This is creeping me out, I really hope this mod isn't given up. IF it is to another mod team. They better not change anything too much.

They couldn't give there content to another team because they're still waiting to get it in the first place fromt pongles D:

Ehh, I've waited years, if the mod has a beta by next summer that would be nice.
