Currently I didn't make 'Create Fire on Lightning' and 'Lightning Screen Effect (Glow)'.

and I planned 'When Wave is done, storm also ended. But, when wave is starting, storm also starting.'

I think that will be hard, but... I will try it anyway.

Anyway, it was fun when I succeed to make this.

P.S: FPS dropped when storm was came. Damn...

Hi Mr. Halt.

You can add the Alpha parameter to the func_precipitation entity.

Open the entities properties, click SmartEdit (top-right), Click 'add', a small window will pop-up,

Key: Alpha

Value: 0

Clcik OK

You can now change the Rains visibility. Alpha 0 = no texture drawn, Alpha 255=texture is complely visible.

You can change this via an I/O system.

Hammer will say or display that the I/O for the func_precipitation entity is bad or not valid, it isn't bad and it is vaild, it'll work.

Thank you, Caleb! (and long time no see, man. lol)

I will test it on tomorrow or on today.

Anyway, thanks for that guide.

Look really amazing!! Zombies + night + rain = even more beat down mood! I mean, it shows more despair to survive! Snow looks fun too. I'm not an ace with programing and stuff.... nor l have any clue on it... So my question is. Can it be done that the rain increases or decreases? Like... -since the pictures are from chinatown- when you start the round, and do the first objective, it starts to rain slowly, like few drops, then around then 2nd objective it starts to rain more and after the canal part, when you come back up its already a heavy rain out there. Or if the weather can change randomly? As in you start with heavy rain, then around the half of the map it slowly starts to stop. Having fog effect could be nice too, reducing your range of view even more, not seeing those lovely runners/kids.

Yea you can do that. I messed around with making a thunderstorm a while ago. Here's a video of it in action: https://youtu.be/QLlUotGdTLo

The rain starts light and increases in density.

Checked the video, looks lovely! Would be nice if something like that would be in the game. Would change a bit by the Survival maps too, where lets say, after the 5th minute it would get darker and it would start to rain, or fog comes out or something.

I agree. Dynamic atmosphere would be a great addition to the maps. It's very simple to do too. It'd take some time to add rain because it's a brush based entity so you'd need to place them by hand in every outdoor area.

With regards to rain you can put one big brush in the map and it will only rain outside

I had a problem with rain going through walls when making a map. But that was a while ago.

Did you guys or Valve fix it recently? I know it only outside in Insurgency which is on CS:GOs version of the SOurce engine.

Here's the rain.vmt for refractive rain drops like in the video I posted for anyone who wants a more realistic rain effect in their works: http://www.mediafire.com/download/7dkusi3r3jox2ch/Refractive+Rain+Drops.7z

Just copy the particle folder and drop it into nmrih/materials (the main directory). Then pack it into your map(s) and it'll have refractive rain drops.
