How Do I Ban Players?! Help Needed

6 posts in this topic

Hey guys I am new to NMRIH and I am new to running a server of any kind!

I am looking for help on how to ban players. I have seen this example

// If you need to ban a player replace time with the amount of time you would like to ban them. Enter 0 for a perma-ban. | example: banid 0 STEAM_0:0:123456 // another example that can be used in this instance is ban <ip>, ban <user>So I type into RCON banid 0 steam_(then their steam number) The reply I get is Usage: banid < minutes > < userid | uniqueid > { kick }

Use 0 minutes for permanent

What am I doing wrong?

Many thanks Adventnevda

check this out:

http://hl2.gamebanana.com/tools/1906

status // Lists the current players names with PlayerID, Name, Steamid and ip address. | example: status kick <name> // If you need to kick a player replace name with the players name. | example: kick douchebag // This command can be used in a number of ways. example: | kick <name>, kick <IP>, kick <steamID> banid <time> // If you need to ban a player replace time with the amount of time you would like to ban them. Enter 0 for a perma-ban. | example: banid 0 STEAM_0:0:123456 // another example that can be used in this instance is ban <ip>, ban <user>

You should look up information first instead of asking for help if you can find it on your own

Fersigal, thank you for your reply. I think if you look over my post you can see I did indeed find a example but it was sadly not working for me? Hence posting what the server was giving me as a reply, I have indeed tried what you suggested and I had tried to find a solution before asking for help.

thanks anyway.

could you please post the exact string you use? perhaps there's a space somewhere in the steamid you have copied? I could try running it on my server as well, see if i get the same result maybe?
