Level Designer- Experience with multiple engines and awarded

5 posts in this topic

Hello, I'm Berk and I'm from London (England not Ohio :P), first off I'd like to say that as much as this an application I won't make it formal because we are a community after all!
I've always wanted to be a level designer and it's what I'm now studying for in sixth form and later on University. I play NMRIH on a daily basis with a group of my friends and I have about 100 hours pumped into it.
Intricate maps are awesome to work with but I have to say, small maps like notld are extremely enjoyable and have crazy re-play value. That's the kind of map that I would want to make for you guys, and as someone who is actually extremely passionate about the game and not just someone who's played it for 10 minutes I obviously want to see the game I know and love flourish into something even better, hence my reason of applying.
I have experience in level design and have won a Bronze Award in the Infomatrix International Project Competition where the team I lead won third place. You may think it's not that big of an award but considering I had a week to put it together all by myself as being the nerdy guy in the assignment, I always ended up doing all the work haha. This was back in 2013 when I was 13, the engine I was using was the CryEngine3 and I also have experience with Bethesda's Creation Engine. I've also been known to have a really good imagination, all I need is a general direction in which to be working and I will get the job done just like a bow, point and shoot!

The highlighted one 'Ecoloigcal E- Learning is my project, although it's real name is 'Project Horizon' ( don't know why they changed it)

Thank you for your application and we're always excited to hear from fans who would like to join our team.

Unfortunately at the moment we are looking for level designers who have experience with the Source Engine as it is quite different from other engines out there at the moment, especially when it comes to optimization and from your application it sounds like at the moment you have no experience with it. We are always happy to bring on new talent to the team and teach them and help them to grow their skills but we do require our members to have some experience prior.

We actively monitor both of our forums and tend to pick from users who display the skills we feel are necessary. We wish you the best of luck on your endeavors and hope to see some of your work on the forums in the months to come!

Also, due to the legal work that comes with being an official Steam Developer, you'll need to be 18 or older. It sucks, but it's something we have to strictly follow. :(
