nms_midwest feedback

Any thoughts on billionlioe's Midwest map in the steam beta build should be posted here, it's a community map with a focus in surviving within a small midwestern town

It also has SECRETS, see you can find them yeh? :P

An update should be coming real quick, one with a new skybox.

Hum.. there is something i did not understand.

I found the "USE THIS" can

Put on the wodden tables

And nothings hapen

Can make the thing explode also

Then, i hit the tables til they crash and i was "LOL"

How that's work xD?

Besides that, the map is beatiful.

Nice desings, very cool ambience.

But is too easy to win

Maybe you can make the gun shop closed?

Because is easy to earn weapons and protect both zones

i won it on my first run without die.

I have played it online, and yes, I agree the gunshop is way overpowered.

The barricade is a puzzle, you need several more steps before you get the goods :P

Finally the boards breaking was intentional to serve as an alternative to solving the puzzle, but in hindsight its a bit TOO easy, I think I'll remove that ability...

I was tired of search the next step of your puzzle and being to hit the tables with my fists

if you shoot the tables them don't break, that's funny, only with some melee.

BUt, only for some FEMA BAGS? really? at least, if you put some puzzle, put something bigger there, dunno, a big prize

You can make zone A bigger, like the Bar and the Shop, so, i'ts more difficult to protect, because is very easy to protect both zones even with 4 players.

Also, there 3 HP boxes and 2 places, or there is a hidden places?

You should put the key to the ammo-locker in there. That'd be hitting two birds with one stone. Although in this case the second bird is only clipped by the stone, and is still able to kind of wobble away.

Hmm, you do have a point there, but the key to the ammo locker AND the flaregun sometimes spawns inside, so that could make it pretty balanced for certain playthroughs...

one of the healthboxes is left over from an earlier version of the map :P

I said it again my friend, this map is too easy, i help players from my server to get the achievment and... even with only 4 players can make the map without any problem

i found the solution for the puzzle, was easy, and i was something i tried before, but didn't worked the frist time dunno why (maybe bug).

My suggestions? lock the armory, lock the 2 armory ammo-lockers.

Make Zones bigger, difficult to cover, you can make the place in front of the rails "ZONE C" (or B) and that makes the teams split or dismiss a zone if they don't wanna cover.

I discover something: The zombies tend to get up here, happened in 3 rounds.

Dunno how or why, but every time i went to kick them, they were up there :|

LOL, i did intend for them to get up there, i just didn't know they'll be stuck like that.

You'll be happy to know that I have made the ammo locker key more likely to spawn INSIDE the barricade, hopefully this should make the map harder and the reward for solving the puzzle more satisfying :D

More feedback coming (i like to record, nothing personal, just to help you improve, not to dislike your work or things like that eh! just the opposite, to tell you if something gone wrong =))

Those should be fixed in the next update. I was careless when I decided that everything will be climbable *maniacal cacking*

Also the zombies can climb on some cars, but i was to lazy to record, but i was a gift for ya ;)

i recorded a bug, not for your map, is a "common" bug i think, but happened in a very crazy way in midwest

later i'll post the video

i have to capture and render :P

I have a question, where can I listen to the music for this level? I haven't seen it on the OST or on ThoughT's bandcamp site.

you can extract music from game files, download GCFScape and open nmrih_dir.vpk/sound/dms, I guess you need re_fallen_city and time_to_run_and_gun
