nmo_cleopas feedback

Any thoughts on nay0r's cleopas map in the steam beta build should be posted here, it's an objective map with a focus on scavenging and exploration

Played the map and I have to say, it's fantastic. However, I was unable to find the set of pliers needed for the final objective. I tried using the compass to locate them, but their position was not indicated. Great map overall though, I only found the part where I had to backtrack to collect all the necessary items to be a bit tedious.

Is this a good place to talk about nms_cleopas? I got to wave 11 on that version of the map, but nothing was happening, I set up the radio and everything. Strange, but maybe it's just me.

Also, it is possible to escape the map by smashing the glass positioned to the left of the retractable metal gate used to access Samco (the one where all the body bags are).

Was the pliers we needed at the escape part is the same one found on the radio station? If it was, I couldn't pick it up.

Nope on that pliers objective they'll show on the compass for the first 20 seconds to give you an idea where they are one extraction begins the glows disappears they spawn in 1 of 3 locations

So yeah... that might be a problem. Funny as hell on a full server though.

Also, the planks of wood have a tendency to fly out of reach if they touch the water instead of the concrete blocks. Not as big of a problem, since you only need a few to bridge the gap, but I thought you'd want to know.

I think it's hard enough to find the pliers and bring them back within 3 min even when u see them on the compass.

When 7 people search the whole map and can't even find them within 3 min ...

Same you could add a 90:10 chance for the explosion right from start as it depends on luck if you stumble over this pliers or not.

After all you need leave the center in 30s, find the pliers in 1min, then run back half a minute at least, open the lock and kill the 30 zombies blocking the helicopter within the final minute.

Don't you think this is hard enough also with the compass enabled for 3min rather than 20s?

Another thing is the door in front of the electrified water, when someone is near the door while it opens he gets catapulted 10m away and dies either through the water or through the fall damage.

Awesome map, really enjoyed it

Minor things:

1) door you sold is bugged: when you use the wehlder you can go trhough because there is an invisible wall.

2) the pliers are REALLY HARD to find :(

Besides that, awesome, very awesome indeed.

I found a bug, dunno if its repetitive or not, if the ladder traspass a player, it kills him

Only happens one time, but it was funny has as hell.

Yeah, the ladder does deal damage on collision sometimes.

Twenty seconds is nowhere near enough time to get an idea of where the pliers are, especially if you don't know what they look like. On top of that, three minutes is also too short to find the pliers. Most players will still be in the shopping center at that time.

I have to agree with the consensus. I could only do this with a teammate in every corner of the map. And for solo runs it's practically a crapshoot. I like the idea, but I don't think the current state is adequate.

Perhaps you could have multiple pliers spawn. Or at least increase the timer. Maybe a hint, like "Should be in a shop somewhere" (Which narrows the search down a bit.) Just some stuff of the top of my head, because it really was a low point for the map.

Finding the pliers is just ridiculous. It is impossible for players to beat this who are unfamiliar with the map. I'm fairly experienced with the game and I still had to search online for the locations because I was not about to play through the whole damn level a 4th time only to fail again at the pliers part. It would be hard enough if it showed up permanently on the compass. But only 20 seconds? At least tell us the pliers will only appear on the compass for 20 seconds. I wasn't even prepared the first time. I thought the campaign was bugged when I couldn't see it on the compass. I stuck to searching inside the store because I didn't think the dev would really be that sadistic and make us search outside with only a 3 minute time limit. What if no one's used the welder on the gates in front of the store? We're even more screwed? Are you TRYING to make us rage quit? It's like you have to do everything perfectly or you have no chance. I mean, there's difficult and then there's unfair. This last part feels unfair to me.

here's the video (asi you can see, i the generator is working). The mic was dissapear from the compass and i wasen't able to found it. May my poor character Requiescat in pace

Yes it's normal to have two gas cans. You only need one though. You have to be close enough to the items for them to appear on compass. The mic is in the R&E store or inside two houses

Just to add more feedback, even worse than looking for the pliers is opening the gate and trying to get past the 20+ zombies inside. The street behind you is full of zombies and then zombies come pouring out of the gate in front. It's just absurdly difficult.

I have to disagree with that last statement there. The thing about that section is if you look around, you can find ample explosives (Mostly molotovs and red-gas canisters, but there are always enough to thin the horde.) It's actually one of my favorite parts of the map, as it rewards a bit of thought and exploration.
