half life 2 used to run on my gma 900 integrated graphics

will this mod run on gma 900 ?

If TF2/L4D can run on your PC, then you can run NMRiH (performance will vary)

Guys.....No.....

GMA900 is pre Intel HD. It's an abysmally weak GPU. I have an EeePC that struggles to run Terraria on the GMA900 even with GMA booster overclicking it from 166mhz to 400mhz.

People that know me, know I love to push hardware farther than it normally should be able to go, so I have run NMRiH on netbooks before. The result is not pretty, at best. Unplayable at the worst.

There are some factors here that could allow this to work.

1. What are your PC Specs?

A strong processor helps when the GPU is lacking as it handles many things that will destroy the GPU performance. With the example of my netbook, the processor is a single core low power atom clocked at 1.6ghz. The same GMA900 on that PC would lag in games that a core 2 duo dual core processor would likely run much smoother.

So, is your PC a desktop or laptop? Exact Specs?

2 .Running on a GMA900 you need to force NMRiH and really any source game to run in DX8.1 mode. You also will more than likely need a custom config file to seriously cut down the visuals. It won't be pretty, but smooth game play is what counts.

EDIT: Scratch that. The GMA 900 is only a laptop GPU. So we know it's a laptop. What are the other specs?

We're also using a newer engine. Valve dropped DX7 support when the Orange Box came out, so even if HL2 ran on the old iGP, it might not on the newer engine as it's simply more graphically intense all around. (In addition to only accepting DX8 +).

Right now you can get an AMD R9 270 for like 80$ on eBay (or locally to save on shipping) due to the cryptocurrency miner dump (cards are originally like $200). Couple that with some old 50$ core 2 duo that you might be able to get off eBay or your local recycling center, and you would likely have a *very* good setup capable of running most new games on medium-high settings @ 1080p. Just make sure the PSU is sufficient.

Basically, PS4 graphics for hopefully <$150.
