3D Artist

14 posts in this topic

Hi, my name is Nichole

I am applying for the position of 3D artist.

I have over 4 years experience in modeling and texturing. I have worked on many weapon mods for many fps games. I specialize in hard surface modeling so I can make environment props or weapons. I am well versed in high poly to low poly baking.

Examples of my works and a brief overview of my workflow are available at http://nicholegernreichportfolio.com .

You can contact me by Email at nicholegernreich@gmail.com on Skype at nichole.gernreich and on Steam username Skaveria

Thank you very much for considering my application

Your skills are really really good in my opinion, but when I saw the 1911,I saw that you didn't replicate some of the parts correctly, like the slide release lever, which makes me sad in the pants, still though nice stuff.

Maxx, our team leader and project manager,is the guy that makes the 3D weapon models and textures on his own, don't know if he needs a second hand though, but he should take a look.

Thank you rock, I try my best to pay attention to detail but I can now see how the slide lock is incorrect.

I'm applying as a 3D artist, most my experience just happens to be in weapons. If the weapons design position is already taken I am more than happy to work on environment props. Funiture, architecture, vending machines etc.

That sawed of 410... i'd love to be able to use that in NMRiH.
It'd introduce a new ammo-type and add a sawed-off shotgun to the weapon roster.
I've never seen or heard of a sawed of 410 (let alone a 410) in a game before so personally I think it's a must-have for NMRiH.

I really like the ideas you put into your weapons, like the Webley revolver with the crafted on laser pointer. You have an unconventional perspective which is really refreshing to see. And I think it correlates with the NMRiH theme.

Of course this is all an opinion and I'm just an excited on-looker, but as a player I hope you become a part of the NMRiH team. I'd really like to see what you could bring to the game.

We'll, if the devs are accepting opinions from us plebeians, I think that lamp you made is damn sexy.

Hey Nichole, thanks for the app!

Do you have any experience with working with the Source Engine, exporting models and textures for Source, etc?

Your work is great and we could totally use another prop artist to help support our level designers.

Most my experience is in unreal but I've done a little bit of source modding in the past. I'm a little rusty but I can definitely adapt back to the source workflow. I will start working on becoming more acquainted with the sdk and the import/export methods.

If you can post some shots of you getting a model in to Source, then we're all good :)

Alright after much trial and error I have gotten a couple of my models into the source engine ^^

I'm still getting used to how source treats specular and normal maps but I think everything turned out decently

Yeah haha we just kind of suck it up and roll with it at this point we know it just ruins everything LOL

Great shit on getting your stuff in game! Seems like you got it down. We can work on bringing you on board, so you'll be hearing from either myself or Dman ;)
