Its so trashy xD

Overall, really nice prop placement though! I get the feeling that it may have taken a while to get everything posed the way it is :P The wall/ceiling in the second pic looks kinda bland however...maybe some trims in the seam between the ceiling and the wall?

Thanks, man. It doesn't feel like it takes too long to pose them. I know what I want it's just a matter of finding props.

Are you talking about the 2nd pic from the top or the second pic from the bottom?

I've been working on the map for a while now. I wanted a place to continuously post screenshots so I don't make a bunch of new posts or hijack a thread. I have more pics of the map floating around here in other threads I just need to centralize them... Eh... I need to take some new screenshots actually.

Looks great! Objective or survival?

No idea yet. I haven't made an objective map yet so this might be it. There's alot of shit cramed in the map so far so If it is an objective map there wont be much ground covered.

Hotel? Motel? School? Apartment? Do tell.

The idea is that it's an abandon building that's become a refuge for those who happen to stumble upon it. A sort of way-point for travelers.

The story is it's just a building thats been used as needed. For example, the government used it as a sort of HQ at one point.

You'll see that there was a family staying there until something horrible happened to them. All we know is there's two body bags with a picture of a family of three next to them and a man's corpse with a hole in his skull and a gun in his hand sitting by the fireplace.

Having a Objective map that takes place in only one building would be pretty interesting.

But it'd take a lot of creative thinking and planning to make it seem natural, if you catch my drift.

Why are you so poignant D: (not complaining, I love details like this and usually seek them out)

You have some of the best prop placement I have seen in source. Hands down.

If you make one building almost like a maze as such, the use of multiple anti objective so there's several different routes would be perfect

Yea. It'd be pretty difficult to do without making it boring or repetitive.

Oh yea. Need to do something there... I think I'll change the wall texture to something else to contrast the ceiling.

lol the end of the world is an usher for sorrow and rgret.

What? Wow! This is an incredible thing to read. You just made my week!

That'd be quite the feat for me. 'Don't know if I'm up for that. I don't know what to do with the map atm. I have a safe-zone set up but I really don't know if I want to add yet another nms map to the roster.

I worked on this room a little more. I propped open one of the doors and added a inaccessible hallway where a utility pole smashed through the wall and ceiling which has been weakened from leaks in the roof. No close ups of it yet because the lighting needs some work.
And I grabbed 4 screenshots of the stair-well showing what it looks like when the lightning flashes.

Yea. I have a low end PC and it runs fine with high settings and 2xAA at 1280x720 solo. I placed some hint brushes in areas that drew unnecessary portals but still need to dedicate a mapping session to it. I have some area portals set up and disabled solidity on objects players won't interact with.

You know, you could make this into a singleplayer NMRiH map. It's not something that's been done before, but I think it could work well with this map. Just saying.

I pretty much finished up the inaccessible hallway:

Added some windows to the "family room":

He isn't new but here's the father of the family that once lived here:

What you'll see when you walk into the room:

Added this painting the mother painted for her daughter that the father hung above them after they died:

And added a rigged sliding door that covers a hole in the ceiling that vents the smoke and fumes from the fire for the moonshine still:
