Saw this objective map today but the server shut down before I could download it :/

Google doesn't return anything for the map name neither.

Hopefully someone will be able to catch this map around again!

Heres the plan.

1. Pictures, videos, descriptions and a official post of nmo_penitentiary will be next week (two weeks max, real life problems come first if any come up.)

2. The first public test map will begin within the same time frame. (1 - 2 weeks)

wow, what a massive map. I can't say much about the gameplay yet, as I was just getting lost in empty halls and corridors for 15 minutes. What it can say however is that the map doesn't look very appealing in its current state. You only used a dozen different textures for the most part - some of which are horribly stretched and badly alligned (example (hammer view)). I do think the map has potential though. It just needs a lot more work and polishing.

I'll give you some feedback on the gameplay later on.

Yeah just remember this is still WIP. This is no where near done yet.

But thank you for the feedback so far.

By the final version of this, textures, lights, easy navigation, brushes, all of it should be corrected and polished nicely.

Its going to take some time though, this is just been 1 months work so far.

played through this yesterday. first off, the constant shaking of the screen got VERY annoying after the first few minutes. should definitely reduce the severity of the shaking, or at least increase the interval so it doesn't feel like there are atomic bombs being dropped every 10 seconds. secondly, the extraction could use some tweaking. the objective says to just survive until extraction, but the compass points to go use a radio, which mentions going to the helipad, but I couldn't find any way to get the gate open to get there. Also it takes forever (~10 minutes?) for the extraction to get there, and when it does you have about 10 seconds to extract or you lose. not very user-friendly.

1. Yes the screen shaking is a bit much, its planned to be reduced and possibly removed next version.

2. The final objective is still WIP, I have some special plans to make it more exciting. Also yeah the gate doesn't work weird, it should open so ill fix this ASAP.

3. Remember this WHOLE map is still W.I.P this is not the final version there's still a lot to consider changing and tweaking.

okay well played it again just now, the gate DOES open, but it goes down so slowly that theres no way to get through before the 10 second extraction. probably should just increase extraction time

Okay so after a nice memorial weekend, I start back full time on my map.

1. Thank you for the feedback! Ive gotten plenty of it so far and its been very helpful.

2. Another version of the map will be coming sometime "soon", until then im going to keep you updated and start posting pictures of progress.

Lets go down the list of the most important things based on feedback.

Textures - As many of you said the map looks very dull due to the same floors, roofs, walls and floors looking like roofs and the walls being ceilings...etc etc. All of that will change very soon and make the map look more alive/real.

Easy Player Navigation - Some of you told me the map is very confusing, that you got lost at certain times and I can def see where you would be, when I tested my map I was my own navigation so this never came to mind. Good news though im going to make sure you new players understand where the hell to go lol, simple as that.

Lack of weapons/Ammo - Certain points of the map reward you with some nice weapons and ammo, but not enough. This will change, you're not going to be geared up like Rambo but certainly make sure everyone has a melee weapon and by the time you get outside, everyone should have at-least one gun especially when you go outside because trust me its a living nightmare.

More realistic Brushes - Some parts of the map look great, some don't. Brush work needs some work/detailing and that's coming. Example: My tunnels are very...whacky and just plain unrealistic. Take a left...take a right...go down here and then come back. Too much too ugly, its going away and being replaced with a much better brushes that will also as above, help navigate players better.

Objectives - Yes there will be anti-objectives, current objectives will change, and most of all there's going to be more different type of objectives, right now there's just about too many "Open this and Pick up that" objectives. Out of all these things objectives are the hardest to setup especially since this is my very first objective map. Changes will come but maybe not in the next version.

So those are my most focused things right now, I am going to do my very best to get this next version out there! Most of all make this map look just god dam great.

I am not sure how long it will take to get this project completely finished, but its going to be as realistic and glorious looking as possible. (To my abilities.)
