How about headlamps?

The Maglite has been the primary source of portable light and the survivors bestfriend in darkness. The maglite has one flaw though, it cannot be used with a two handed weapon making one handed weapons more favourable when you're going solo. With the appearance of headlamp, players can see in the dark and wield an AK47/M4A1/Shotgun/etc. at the same time. I've mod Counter Strike 1.6 multiple times with skins and sounds and the models have a p (player), v (view) & a w (world) (P.S. I defined those letters myself so apologese if I make mistake). I using these terms because NMRiH is a alf life mod which is closely related to Counter Strike and so it would be easier to explain it this way.Maybe the headlamp could only be viewable in the p and v so that's already less work done sort of like the Walkie Talkies. Maybe you could reduce the radius of lumination to be smaller than the maglite so there would be balance?

So watcha think?

I also forgot the idea of nightvision and since it is a premium Millitary Grade, why not make it a rare item to spawn (Maybe only a 5% chance?)

Nah. The maglite encourages teamwork, not lone-wolfing. The maglite provides that kinda teamwork that's needed.

Well I know it's a lone wolfing oriented item (I actually thought of this idea when I was playing nmo_cabin alone) but it doesn't have to be lone wolfing does it? It's just a thought that might could increase realism...

Flares and chemlights sound like a great idea - I mean, the latter is found literally everywhere in-game anyway, so why not?

I personally just think guns should have a very slight chance of dropping with a flashlight. Some guns like shotguns, it just makes sense for. Most police shotguns have integrated flashlights anyway, same with military M16s / M4s.

What are Chemlights? (Is it a millitary grade glowstick?) I thought they're everywhere in NMRiH maps and that they suck at the only thing they're created to do. They're only good at attracting attention not illumination...

And about the light integrated weapons, if I'm not mistaken, there is something about it not gonna be available for a long time (a really looong time). i dunno, my head is just filled with a lot of forum ideas right now after spending around 2 hours constantly reading ideas & suggestions...

Yeah, chemlight is just slang for a glowstick. But hey, it's at least an option. Flares make sense too.

I can imagine they wouldn't implement it until the array of weapons available is somewhat finalized so they can be balanced.

Night Vision or a headlamp seems like something I'd never use. I don't even bother with the flashlight.

Really? How many of you people have a cat's eye instead of normal human eyes?

i support the idea, but a new view and world model would be needed to integrate it to the rest of the items.

but actually, there is the lighter, the maglite and the flaregun(maybe add lighting to the flaregun instead of adding flares?).

Hey, easy :/ Not everyone has flares on hand, and it's hardly worth bitching someone out over.

there's the lighter which already uses the kind of light-entity that would be needed for a flare/glowstick.

i support the idea, but a new view and world model would be needed to integrate it to the rest of the items.

but actually, there is the lighter, the maglite and the flaregun(maybe add lighting to the flaregun instead of adding flares?).

i support road flares like there are in half life 2 they would provide temprorary illumination. for like some minutes when theres a large wave coming

As for lone wolfing, I feel like the game already has a great natural selective pressure against it.
head lamps (unique animation for putting it on and operating it would be nice)
chem lights
flares
I for one am all for these objects making their way in the game and appropriate levels.
