Ammo Crate

21 posts in this topic

Going to start off by apologizing if a suggestion similar to this has already been posted. Anyway back on topic; Ammo Crate, I know what you're thinking an ammo crate full of ammo to loot... wrong. I love the temwork aspect of this game especially when a group shares ammunition and medical supplies. When I first played this game I was lucky enough to find a server with a considerate player who placed all the extra ammo he found on Zone A, this way we could have more players on point protecting and him out looting. After a few rounds he came back with a health crate and placed it in its place, and this got me thinking, why not have a place for an ammo crate(its empty)! It's purpose would be to place spare ammunition and let other players be able to obtain the type of bullets/shells they need. It could have a menu similar to the supply drops. Although this suggestion might not be game-changing, it's purpose is to keep the player's "armory" organized. (Sorry for any spelling/grammatical issues typed this on my phone)

Demo-Ability to also store weapons

As one of those OCD ammo-organizing scouts, I must say I approve of this idea. Not sure about a big crate per se, but some form of a decently-sized container could work. Also putting guns in it would be nice too.

You're right, being able to store weapons would be nice. But to offset this there will have to be limitations. We could have a certain of weapons and ammunition before the Crate became full.

I'm not sure... it seems like it'd be slightly contrary to how the game wants you to constantly move forward to escape. I want to say that a duffel bag or backpack that other players can grab out of but not yourself might work, but... hard to say.

Survival mode.

Survival mode.

That's implied, but the maps are quite small to begin with and you can call in supply drops anyway. Probably a simple enough feature to add though.

Boring, the game lost his essence: SURVIVE with all you have, weapons are not bullet infinite, if you got an ammo crate is boring as hell, melee lost his cause and you got an easy game.

Also, the game is a little tactic, use melee in first rounds and save bullets for later

Did you read the thread? The point is having a crate for storing the ammo you have, not a crate for getting new ammo.

Could you please show me where in the thread it says you will get infinite ammunition? Don't just read a title and imply incorrect information; actually read what it has to say.

It's not all his fault. If you really want to be understood by all viewers, it will all depend on how well your grammar is, or simplified and educated. It doesn't take much, but long paragraphs are the worst for teachers and general readers who risk their time reading things. We do it here! :D Wow... I just realized that... All these subordinate thoughts... somewhat clinging to sexuality and expression, but it's all words, names, and portraits. This is fun!

While he also has a point, it's irrelevant, lol. I also support the crates, too! As long as the game is concrete enough for thinking players, crates may become very useful! ... As useful like hands on like Garry's Mod, but with less stupidity and more TTT.

Since a game only lasts up to 1 hour on survivor. I think OCD chest organisation would not really be a that benifical feature.

Yes like I said in the original post, forgive me for any grammatical issues, I did submit this via phone :)

I see your point; maybe once all the key features for NMRiH have been added or fixed this could be added as a smaller feature to the game.

Yeah, I get you, I just mean in survival maps I've played on, the flare guns made limited ammo and collecting ammo and organizing it less important. I still think it would be convinient if added though.

I once played with my brother (LAN) in nms_northway when it was 1.06 (so if all zone points were loss the game would still continue) and we barricaded ourselves in the gun store and endlessly calling in for supplies. The problem was we tried to sort the guns and ammunition in that small store and we kept on getting items we didn't wanted (there was no highlight system for 1.06). So yeah, a crate to store weapons and ammunition would be very helpful. Question is, how do we store it? I mean the ammo crate dropped by the chopper was only for us to take not store...

I dunno, maybe a radial menu like your inventory or just a standard list interface? It would fit the idea of allowing faster sorting.

I think it should be more of an inventory table like in common RPGs. Maybe there could be 2 panels. One is the inventory and one is the ammo crate. So we can take and store at the same time?

I think its a pointless endeavor. All it takes its a noob or a spray and prayer to empty the box quite fast.

I still don't think it's pointless, however your statement is currently true. That's why there is an ancient art and method of staying alive together even though 90% of the server population is n00bs. I don't know if you ever heard it before but it's called COMMUNICATION, TEACHING and TEAMWORK. If you're experienced, then you should be able to survive adequately only with a melee...
