World Brightness Issue (Mac)

14 posts in this topic

Hello, I've been having issues with the lighting in the game. The world is so dark that it makes it difficult to see anything in dimly lit areas. Adjusting gamma seemed to only slightly work. It's hard for me to enjoy the game when I can't find my way out of a room or bump into objects I can't see. I'm running a 13-inch, Late 2011, Macbook Pro.

Details:

OS 10.7.5

Processor 2.4 GHz Intel Core i5

Memory 8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3

Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 512 MB

I'm assuming the majority of players are running Windows, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Seems there's something wrong with either the shaders or the screen vignette. It should clear up if you set "nmrih_screenspace 0" in console -- however the infection / low health effects will also go away. We're looking into fixing this for a future patch.

Heelo, I also have the same issue and I'd really want to know how you set " nmrih_screenspace 0 " in your console. This is an amazing game and I really wanna fix this. :)

Just go to Options > Multiplayer > Advanced and uncheck "Enable screen shaders", it does the same exact thing (sets nmrih_screenspace to 0)

Cool game you guys have going. A few of us at office played it for awhile on lunch today... I thought it was really dark, did a quick google and this thread came up. Are both PCs and Macs affected by this?

Only Macs with an ATI card are affected.

Does "nmrih_screenspace 1" restore to default?

Yes that'll reenable shaders

It is terribly difficult to see in many areas of the game, as at the office many co-workers are finding it the same troubles. Either Ambient lighting or Post-Processing does need adjustments.
