UK Government to reclassify Weed to class B

Our goverment is at it again. The cannabis laws are being tightened due to much harder strains on the streets. This maybe true, however how is reclassifying it going to help? The truth is this is a purely political decision with the idea being to reverse Tony Blair's 2004 C class classification, thus drawing distance from him in the hope of winning the next election (Tony Blair=Iraq war=Public hatred). If the government really gave a shit, they would legalise it, get the harder stuff off the streets, destroy the social stigmata surrounding it, tax it and reduce gang control and income, thus creating a situation where everyone, bar the dealers win. Labour has lost the local election and will lose the general one, I am just appaled by this political manouvering.

I smoke, and i think it should stay a class C cos i believe that cannabis is a lot safer then say Amphetamines a class B.

i even think cannabis is a lot better and safer than any class C drug too

the government are fools!

Well I personally think weed is a hell of a lot safer than booze so obviously you can see why I want it legalised. Weed doesn't make people violent nor does it make them think they can drive like an F1 driver.

haha true that

did you ever see that smoke and drive test on tv? i saw it on youtube....

wanting to test the effects were similar to drink driving

i tottaly agree with you on the violent front... if it were legalised it would def stop some larger louts starting fights outside bar, pubs and clubs on anyone even if they havent looked at them lol... my brother got knocked out once, some guy thought he was someone and went up behind him, and punched him once to the back of the head, knocked him to the floor as well as hitting his head straight out on the floor.

amsterdam is so chilled out in the cafes, you get no hassle, only chilled out people who usually smile at ya when you look at them, or even start talking about random bollocks.

i forgot to mention about the F1 driver statement...

my mate smokes a pipe at red lights while driving... hes a nut!

he drives nuts when sober and is exactly the same stoned... only i feel less safe for a reason lol

I used to stoned drive but it really isn't a good idea. My mate almost ran someone over at a bus stop once when he got distracted as a result of being stoned. THat was the end of that. Amsterdam is super chilled, there would no doubt be a similar culture in Britain. If people are stoned 95% will just chill out and violence will go down. Of course bumping into a drunk person when stoned is never a fun mix.

If this government is serious about people's health in relation to weed (Even though there is NO decent evidence suggesting a link between mental health and weed) then legalising is the way forward. In the US when prohibition was enforced, all it did was give money to the gangs and cause people to die as the percentages they were drinking go a lot higher since obviously bringing less stronger booze in increases profit and reduces risk of detection. Its similar with weed... except people can't die from weed.

The only problem with weed and partying is that some of the people drink and smoke and then go driving. So bad shit happens. But that shouldn't ruin it for everyone.

And our government seems to think weed causes insanity and irreversible health problems. Sure, the memory gets dulled, but from any stoner friends I have that is about as bad as it gets (other than being lazy shits, but they're hilarious which makes up for it).

I don't think Marijuana is in the same court as those other drugs, but I don't think it should be legalized. I don't think there is anything wrong with people smoking it as much as they do now, but legalizing it would make it WAYYY too available, and then we would have more young people doing it and flunking out of school.

Intoxicated driving laws should always remain, although marijuana if anything, increases paranoia and anxiety causing intoxicated persons to drive slower and more cautiously. Then the real problem would be a bunch of baked idiots driving two miles an hour down the freeway.

Weed has no connection to flunking out of school. The truth is, kids that care little enough about the law and school to drop out are the same kids that care little enough about the law to break it by smoking weed. Half the kids do it just because its illegal.

Agrred Booze, i'm a lazy shit but I was like this long before I started smoking weed.

Legalise it, regulate it, tax it. Only solution to the current problem of stronger strains.

remember the old saying...

beer than grass, your on your arse

grass then beer, your in the clear

always works for me and my mates, if anyone drinks before any smokeage that day, they will be throwing up for a while lol

if im going down the pub for a few drinks with some of my smoking buddies, i have a doob before i go, so that i follow the old saying and so i dont throw up at all

and its a good thing i dont drive lol

I think that cannabis should be legalized, since I see it as a better thing to do than drinkin alcohol. Actauly I have stopped drinking, and now I smoke maybe once for every second month. I had enough alcohol to last me for several years, so I don't have the feeling that I need to drink. I think the goverment should legalize the weed, cauese it really has a lot of different effects on people than alcohol has, and people becomes much more friendly and open minded when they eat/smoke the grass. It's a better way people!

its still illegal, so nothing really changes. you'll still be able to find it im sure. i don't think i need to go off on a rant about legalizing it, i think my outlook on it has been made pretty clear in the past.

Punishment for smoking pot isn't severe enough. You should lose your thumbs and have your arches flattened.

It doesn't matter which order you use them, beer and weed will lay you out. The alcohol completely takes over the effects of the marijuana, every time I drink after smoking I don't feel high anymore, but extremely drunk.

Alternative medicine are more accepted now a days due to it's promising results unlike pharmaceutical medicine, alternative medicine don't give negative effect such as kidney and liver problems when it comes to long term use. As for my alternative medicine usage, I use medical marijuana. Different strain has a variety of uses and effect depending on your needs.
