Weapon attachments and zombie loot

12 posts in this topic

It would be cool if we maybe could get weapon attachments. But im not talking about pre-defined on certain weapons or something like were you can find them around the map and use them on all or specific guns. Also had the idea that when you find the attachment you can only add the attachment at a workbench or certain place to go to attach it. Also no sure if someone already posted this but maybe if zombies when you kill them they could drop loot maybe like ammo meds pills ect.

The work bench/crafting stuff has been bought up before. Personally I don't see a point since objective map run time is around 15mins and players loose anything they find/pickup on the next round. Distracting players from the objectives with randomly placed work benches and attachments would promote even more one man army fail.

The zombie dropping loot is something that could work in NMRiH but, I think it would have to be extremely rare. Since I don't think an infected would typically carry around a box of 9mm or a medic kit.

maybe adding different type of skins for zombies and depending what skin it is it will drop a certain loot type or specific
like if you had a doctor zombie he would drop meds pills bandages ect or a soldier zombie would drop some type of ammo

I really agree with that and not only the item drop idea but it's getting quite repetitive killing the same zombie person more than 10 times in a round.

There's also the idea where you can find a random zombie with a B.O.B. (Bug Out Bag) strap to their back and you can find more useful items in terms of quality and quantity. It's been use in a Flash game before called "The Last Stand - Union City" before so I'm not sure if that's such a wise idea to also include it in this game...

I'm still waiting for my fire-proof firefighter zombies, chest damage proof kevlar vest wearing zombies, blunt head damage resistant hardhat / faceshielded / bicycle helmet wearing zombies, zombies that spawn on fucking fire, zombies covered in a flammable or even explosive substance! barbed-wire tangled zombies that cause bleeding when they strike you! Slow almost invulnerable bomb suit zombies, parapalegic, amputee or heavily damaged crawling zombies. Muscular heavy hitting zombies. Not to mention light sensitive albino zombies!

Fuck all the bitches!

come on, we need more zombie combat diversity!

it's all realistic so far, right?

Lol light sensitive albino zombies.. it would be cool to add maybe a few zombies with 'shielded' areas, but not too much that they become like special infected zombies in l4d where the regular zombies don't matter as much and are almost 'space fillers' for in between waves of special infected

i might pick up what greg said about the game concept, since it is not really designed to carry over anything to the next map/round.

there is no point in looting or storing any items or attachments, since you will find many different types of working weapons and all you need on the map itself.

at least player progress will be saved in the upcoming achievements and i'm sure we will have fun with them, since in a zombie apocalypse you can do better things then loot items or apply attachments to your weapons.

weapon attachments? keep in mind putting a scope on a gun isn't as simple as just slapping it on there, and I don't think a "zero your sight for zombie combat at 50 meters" while wasting ammunition is an appropriate thing for this game. DayZ? maybe.

Also the entire point of the picatinny/weaver rail system is to be able to attach and remove attachments WITHOUT a workbench, if you've actually handled a weapon with a rail system and sights (or simply did research) you'd know this.

As for traditionally mounting scopes by drilling and tapping holes in receivers... doing that while trying to escape? yeah.

I was thinking about this earlier while playing.

Eventually when NMRiH has some longer objective maps there should be weapon attachments, e.g if you find a roll of duct tape you can attach a flashlight to your rifle/SMG (inb4 L4D). Workbenches wouldn't really fit though, considering the fast-paced nature of most maps. Another make-shift attachment could be lasers, or if you have a weapon that can have attachments mounted on them you could attach things like laser sights (like the A4 currently has by default).

I think we should be able to duck tape the flashlight to guns, or something of that nature, The only 2 attachments this game needs is a flashlight mod and red dot laser:)

But then that eliminates the whole co-op concept of "Here, I'll shine my light on them, you shoot them with the shotgun."

M16A4 doesn't have a laser sight....
