Taking Mags

11 posts in this topic

Being able to take mags of the weapons you find (for example you have a ruger and you find another one, you take the mag out of the newly found one to add it to your ammo).

Then all the veteran players would strip all the guns of their ammo because they know where they spawn, leaving the newbies with nothing.

not really, without teamworks you end up with zombie team mates running after you... not at your advantage to do so ^_^

I guess you missed the part where I said "veteran players". They won't die with the extra ammo, believe us. People are selfish in NMRiH.

People are selfish in NMRiH.

Well if given the option to, and they already are to some extent.

I thought about such a system, being realistic and all. Might not end up working out unless servers are given a "fallback" option of using the old standard system.

What about only being able to take ammo from pistols only? Might not work well in survival because of selfish people but in objective game mode it would probably be fine (When you are getting closer to the end and team mates have found other guns most of the time pistols are left where they are found, while another player might have a pistol and wished he could take the ammo from it)

If they were to incorporate it at all, it wouldn't make too much sense if the player could only take the ammo from just pistols.

Hey bud i played with ya a bit yesterday on flooded and isolated, I think it is a smart design choice that they didn't incorporate stripping weapons of ammo. It can already be pretty frustrating enough coming across a bunch of empty weapons, just because some banana head went nuts and shot every round off at zombies when he came across weapons.

I can't tell you the amount of times not being able to do this, has made me decide to leave the weapon for others since I can't strip the ammo. Otherwise every server you ever played with me you would come across only empty weapons (if you're slower than me)

The next best thing is to replace it with the same weapon you got and check to see if it has more ammo in the chamber, and even this you are leaving at least a bullet for other players.

To ultimately make it balanced, there would need to be a pretty big trade off to make it fair.

That's already in, just hold reload to check your ammo, drop the gun and get the new one.

Yea a core system like this is tricky. Just as abilities said, if your slow, you wouldn't find ammo. And that would be true, I would take the ammo out and leave the bare gun.

Core gameplay ideas get thought about, then either thrown out or put in. In this case, it will probably get thrown out.
