Survivors vs Bandits Gamemode Idea

I have an idea for a new gamemode. There are 2 teams. They each have to survive from the zombies while trying to kill the other team. 1 team are bandits and the other is survivors. This could also just be survivors vs survivors. The team that survives wins. You could just defend at a base until the other team dies, hunt the other team or wait for them so you can ambush. You have to be tactical in this gamemode, because you could have a big ammo cache and someone could defend so the other team doesn't get it and so on.

We designed essentially this game mode back in 2010, you're also about the 50th person to suggest it on the forums :)

I like this idea, basically because I pitched it in exhaustive detail on the team forums a while back. In your defense, you couldn't have known or seen that so it's nice to see the idea is desired from fans as well as the team.

My variation included boards as materials around the map which would allow one team to be able to fortify their base or even build it from the ground up (each starts with 4 vertical pegs that you can nail boards onto in order to protect the objective. If both sides live to the end, there is an evac but only 4 people can make it out. Could be an entire team or a surviving member of the other one. There was a lot more to it but it was getting pretty cool in theory.

New gamemodes would be good, the lack of objective maps and spams of survival maps and the dull survival mode gets old.

A game mode that pitches survivors against each other would take a very good idea to make it work and be fun, thier is the precedent for it as players have a knack for turning on each other, in survival particularly, but it would need a strong mechanic that would make the mode more than a team deathmatch.

Yea exactly. It would be very easy to turn it into NMRiH: Deathmatch if the right mechanic wasn't added.

EDIT: What would happen if one player at random was given a stash of pills/medkits and people needed them (slowly bleeding out, infection, or something else?)

What about just having a random player in the team to spawn as a "rebel" and only him knows it, he can either decide to be friendly and not attack the others or turn others into rebels (which could be spotted somehow and found hostile)
rebels would objective would be different from the other part of the humans, for example it could be to sabotage the generator or things like that.
