Dementium The Ward Remake

7 posts in this topic

http://www.moddb.com/games/dementium-fpsc-remake

NOTE: THE NAME HAD TO BE CHANGED DUE TO LICENSE ISSUES! BUT I CAN STILL MAKE IT! :) THANK DIGITAL TRIBE STUDIOS FOR BEING KIND ABOUT THIS MISUNDERSTANDING. THE NAME IS CHANGED TO DEMENTIA: LONE NIGHTMARE. Dementium: The Ward is a Nintendo DS survival horror first-person shooter game developed by Renegade Kid and published by Gamecock. Dementium was released in North America on October 31, 2007. It is now being remade in FPSC. The remake will try to follow as close as possible to the original with some new additions and fixes. All credit to the original developers and their great work. This is and will be a free game for PC gamers.

I think you have way too many projects going on, finish something!

EDIT: I'm a big fan of the dementiums so you should work on that IMO, it looks the most promising.

On your mod page for Resident Evil you state that it's your first mod. The success rate of mods is so extremely low as it is now, that splitting your attention between two right off the bat is setting yourself up for failure. You need to choose between resident evil or this. Honestly I would choose this one over Resident Evil. You have the freedom to get very creepy and atmospheric and the indoor maps should be easier than the outdoor maps RE would require. RE has also been done to death and in fact there is a RE mod for NMRIH in production that honestly can't be beat. It looks stunning.

Dementium hasn't been done before and would be an easier beginner mod. Focus on one thing or fail both. That's my advice as a previous mod leader with no mod to show from it.

Yeah I'm a fan since I started playing The Ward just it's save style is irritating having to restart the whole freaking chapter because of the bosses. Stuck at the wheel chair guy right now. Also D2 is coming to PC this summer!!!! :D

This isn't a mod, this is a game. I work on many things over time little by little getting things done with everyday life things too. The mod is currently facing some issues and I have posted an article reaching out for help. It should be up sooner or later.

Dementium isn't an easy thing to remake especially with lack of content that fits it's environment. I'm using stock content mainly right now for that. The engine is FPS Creator for those who don't know. I have no experience with modeling and all, I'm best with Level Design and Writer.

I like having many things going at once it keeps me busy and if I can't do/deal with something for one right then I can move onto another project and do some things to that and switch up. Focusing on one thing isn't my thing let alone bearable, for that get's annoying as hell man! >.<

I lose interest and nothing will be done in WEEKS. I have to switch up to get things done, that's how I am. Not a one thing guy. Like playing the same game for days would get old and I'd sell or uninstall or leave it alone for months till I feel like seeing it's existence again. I have to have other things.

Also the RE mod for HL2 isn't all outdoor, just parts will be. You will be going through many buildings rather than city streets. There's a source for the R.P.D. when the time comes so it won't delay release or the rest of the mod. I have friends who are working on RE stuff with Source so win win if something goes wrong with mapping.

I also know of the RE map series that's going on for NMRIH but that's for this mod. I'm doing a RE mod for HL2 not NMRIH itself. Be easier maybe with weapons and zombies but I'm working with what I got and people who contribute to the mod's completion.

You say its not a mod, then proceed to call it a mod! Also you say you like to switch it up, well you can work on 1 project and still work on different things For that project. Cuz let's face it, you don't have the patience to sit down and do one thing for so long you will find other things to do that peak your interest more. (Getting this from your last statement.) Right now working on both, it will take you 2x as long just to complete 1. You also had some maps and new game mode you were gonna add to this game (your animal crossing nmrih map)

Everything sounds easier on paper/getting started

Resident Evil Fall of Raccoon City IS a mod for Half-Life 2.

Dementium is a game made with FPS Creator.

That Animal Crossing map for NMRIH is abandoned for good reasons. (Detail, nav, and other issues)

The Walking Dead Survival Instinct map series for NMRIH is still being worked on, but it's not a main goal rather a side thing. (If it was such a huge thing I'd have all the maps out and in good details. It's nothing more than a little thing I started doing one day and every now and then add onto it.)
