  4. nms_medication is my most favourite map so far, currently holds a secret room (which is where the supply drop is - good luck finding it). Also has a random gun spawner ( the creepy room with the doll). A safezone that requires you to keep it intact or you'll lose the power to the lights. (They are regain-able). Overall this is my most fun map to make. I was considering using this map as a objective map, but i ended up just having fun with it. Won't be a while till i make an objective map, untill i get a good idea of one. (currently thinking something around an evil character - i.e the weird creature in this map). Maybe i'll go on something with that idea for an objective map, but for now... I'm going to make a ton of survival maps for fun. Stay tuned! ^-^ Anyway I hope you like! - Love feedback too!   5. Hi, I did a quick search, and checked some of the topics and couldn't find this, so I'm putting it out there: Can there be crawling zombies in this game? What if someone's body was somehow split in half at the waist and he reanimated, wouldn't he be able to crawl at you? Or you cut a Zombie in half at the waist yourself with an Axe, then the zombie would be a crawler, right? Only certain weapons would be able to cut a person in half, so these crawlers will be quite rare. Please give it a thought. This is just another way to add Zombie Diversity without leaving your Zombie lore.
  6. This isn't a suggestion for new .22 weapons as covered by the weapons thread, but rather some discussion regarding their current utility and potential tweaks to them. I find that the 10/22 feels... well, it recoils, kicks and sounds like a .223 rifle of some kind. It's very strange. The .22 handgun less so, but both seem to hit about as hard as 9mm, maybe 5.56 for the rifle. Please correct me if I'm wrong with that. Given ammo is somewhat rare and the weapons don't hold very many rounds, I feel like they're mainly fluff, adding not much gameplay depth compared to the existing firearms while complicating ammo acquisition, the weapons themselves not being particularly common or often used. They should be a bit more utilitarian given .22 LR is one of the most common cartridges in North America and many other places. The firearms and the rounds themselves are cheap and can be found in generous qualities. You can often buy a box of 500 rounds for well under $30. My suggestion then is: Reduce .22 recoil and power by a significant amount, so they're portrayed realistically - less than a 9mm or 5.56. However, give them competitive power if you stand still and focus (maybe the 10/22 could focus fire as a unique ability as a rifle?) and make the time required to focus for a shot shorter since they are lighter and kick less. Perhaps make the ammunition available in slightly larger quantities and allow more to be carried. There's no reason a 10/22 couldn't have a 25-round magazine, and you can carry several hundred rounds of .22 in about the same space and weight as a box of shotgun shells. A .22 against slow-moving shamblers should do serious damage to the braincase, but a .22 is not generally considered a weapon to rely on for every situation. By having ammo be available in slightly larger quantities and allowing more to be carried, this offsets the low effect of the caliber and provides an interesting weapon for thinning out zombie clusters, if not entirely suited to a general spectrum of situations like a 9mm handgun, shotgun or rifle due to lacking power when not aimed with care. Rather than another generic rifle and handgun similar to the 9mm handgun and .223 rifle. What do you guys think?

  12. This map was an idea I had for the game, I must say this is my first map I have ever made for this game and I would really like to know what people think about the idea of the map. The name is pretty fast so if the map seems good enough to push further in development it is definitely going change! Screen Shots Right now it is pretty unfinished like there are currently no supply drops, and no extraction, I don't know how much having no extraction would break the map when you complete it. -To remedy no supply drops the map automatically supply's the player with unlimited ammo by engaging the "givecurrentammo" command every fraction of a millisecond! -There is only guns inside the spawn and no health or other supplies right now, so try to not get bit! There are blast doors in the map and they open when you get near them, so the first floor blast doors need to be opened in order to kill all the zombies to finish the rounds, but the second floor blast door doesn't really need to be opened till zones A and B are destroyed so I wouldn't go upstairs till you really need to, unless you don't care about zones C and D. Other then that remember this is pretty much a concept, I would like to know everyone's opinion about the design of the level and the idea of it. If you need help let me know and if you have any suggestions let me know. I do need help myself sense I don't have that much experience mapping for this game, so if there is any info about anything that would be nice to know I would much appreciate. Download
  13. In a remote park of my area there are two fields divided by what they called a crevice in the ground, leading to the creek. This all is located behind the woods in front of the park and baseball area. It is all where we played paintball years ago, and I still obsess with its future. Not just a future of buying a machete and making the woods the once-beautiful place it was before the hurricanes hit, but an organization of paint ball with zombies, hidden audio-ware for all means of horror, BBQ, food, and simply the ultimate paintball getaway. If that ever ends up not being fun to me, it should provide fun to anyone in my city. A lonely walk through that park helped me cook up one story on how it will go without it being stupid... "OMFgosh this sounds a little retarded: paintball with zombies? Who's going to be the zombies?" "I know I'm not going to be a zombie. What do you have to do; try to tag players out while being shot all over your mask?" "Whatever dude, it's going to have food. Plus, I have work at 6. So I can't stay long anyways." The group of boys driving in the vehicle are just miles away from Cedar Park, a baron place recently rennovated after years of people having to look at the old playground; the largest place missing the largest slide. It is their first time heading this way to a place long loved by Joe Mendoza. For what they see in the park is among far more of what Joe once saw there in a period of 20 years of well-adjusting memory. They are friends of friends of Joe. He'd be intrigued, but truly indifferent with new players, as they all come and go with their own fucking important likes and dislikes. There were many times Joe has seen people leave and never come back to such a great place for paintballing. This time, his exposition will get your time's worth whether you hate the guy or not. Give a dog a stick to chew, hate him, take away the stick, but the dog loves to growl. All for now. Ideas to come and clarify what is to be posted. Jeez, I really wish I had shit my way for a good long while now. People hate me, as they still think I should learn to hate, but I provide. I provide, because I know what hatred is. It takes perfection to appeal to haters. Therefore, a perfectionist feeeds from hatred. *Sigh* So many haters, but no money. I'm totally worth that money... I really hope to make that money. It's all about ideas, not doubt; it's sniffing around!
  14. Through messing around with the SDK and porting NMRiH content to Garry's Mod, I found the unused "Runner" and "Jessica" infected models which are quite glitchy. So I thought how to make use of them, by making them infectors. Description Probably drug addicts in life, they carry all sorts of dangerous diseases, from HIV to AIDS to even the Virus that caused all of this. They are like the Runner infected, albeit slightly slower and weaker. One thing that makes them dangerous is that he can transmit the infection in one hit. It's probably best to prioritise them over all infected as they can ravage a whole team in just a single hit. In-Game The Infector uses the unused "Runner" and "Jessica" model (both which are glitched, but use them as placeholders anyways) and has a higher chance to spawn and die sleeping. Likewise, he has a very high chance to infect a player in 1 hit, making him a thread to a whole team. If suitable, he uses the old Children voicelines due to his voice being mangled by both his previous drug life and the virus. They bite too, which instantly infects the player. If you disagree, please explain why, in a polite manner. Likewise, feedback and suggestions are welcome.
  15. there should be, in my opinion, an option to disable runners and/or children for the server host, or even a vote like rtv for it. i dont like runners, its not "realistic". children are ok, i suppose, but runners are annoying. love realism mode tho!
  16. Right now the zombies look kinda blah. Sure they are fictional characters and all of that, but I think there should be more animations for them in a way, since they are the main point of the game. Such as, when you shoot a zombie, it should wiggle in a way, like if you shoot it's stomach it flinches, and if its idle, such as no one is around it and it's not going after anybody, it should stay in one spot and just move around that one spot, such as from Left 4 dead, where the idle zombies just walk around a spot oddly. Make them more creepy and scary, more interactive with the enviorment and reactions. I don't like how when I hit a zombie and it doesn't die, it just keeps on moving without any effect, and only sometimes does it get pushed back. Also, the runners, They should actually be able to catch up to you if your walking. Right now you can just keep walking away from them and they don't do anything, maybe add a maul attack for them for when they attack you from behind, they push you to the ground and start biting you. Another thing, I think you should really add something like, when a player dies, the zombies stop down at the player and start eating him, a good way to use the saying or whatever "You don't have to be faster than the zombies, just faster than your friend" or whatever that was. Basically what I am saying is tweak the zombies a bit. Yes, I know animation man power is a bit weak right now but atleast do something that will make them more interactive in a way Also, imagine seeing this in no more room in hell, looking at your buddy, or imagine you being in first person awhile this is happening to you.

The main storyline is intense & heartwarming. The side quests are exciting and fun. Exploring the vast open world of Deathland will surely have you playing for hours! You don't have to go from one main quest to the next. You can do a main quest, then go out and explore, level up, do an optional side quest, then come back and do another main quest. You are in control. Now I don't see anything great here but others may actually like it.

  21. When my friend makes,or when I make a server,we try to join by connect<IP> It says Bad Server Adress. Also when I try to add my friends server to favourites nothing happens. It just returns me to find server screen. How can we play on our own server?

Go visit the Faraway Museum to see the wonders of dinosaurs, fish, bugs and insects, and paintings...of course while slaughtering the undead. Well if not would you like to wander the town and enjoy the sights? Oh of course not. IT WILL NOT BE AN EXACT REPLICA! (Trees and other foliage are to represent what is seen in AC for now till models or something can be made up for replacement to make it more AC instead of HL2/NMRIH.   23. Hello. My name is Zlatan, and I'm a huge fan of zombie games (such as NMRiH, ZPS, etc.). I don't usually register on forums to ask questions and such, but I must. I literally started playing this game yesterday, I got the hang of it. I'm currently however facing some technical difficulties. I'm having my game CRASH (hl2.exe has stopped working - something like that) like every 4th time I try to connect to a server, or when a server changes the map/level. However thats not the only problem. I'm having some lags (FPS lag) in the game due to too much dead zombie bodies. I want to know how to disable them, I know its possible. I have HL2, CSS, ZPS, and those games don't lag much as this one. I have became such a big fan of this game now, and I want to play it normally, without any lags. I have a nice performance config, I have added bunch of lines to the user launch options in Desura/Steam for this game. I want to know if anyone made any performance/lag tweaks - fixes (configs) example: autoconfig.cfg. I use the one which I have on ZPS it seems to work perfectly.... I just want my game to stop crashing every 4th time I join a map/level/server. Also, when I'm about to quit the game, I wait about 5 seconds and then again "HL2 has encountered a problem". But thats not the thing I'm really worried about. PS. I voted for NMRiH in the site provided on the background image on your facebook page.

But when this virus came upon us we were forced to quarantine the base and everyone in it. No one escaped, no one made it back to Earth I. For if they did the rest of the human race could be put into jeopardy. Sadly that is what is. I lost contact with my superior officer and the rest of the soldiers a few hours ago. Seeing that I was still fine gave me hope of immunity. A cure. A chance to save the others. But everytime I find someone it's too late and their the mindless rage filled monsters this virus turns them into. They are still somewhat human, a shot to the head takes them down instantly and a few rounds in the chest will put em down as well. Sadly I lost all my equipment when I tried to escape a horde of them. Now I got my fists. It is time for me to escape...somehow.
