  2. Don't get your panties in a bunch, its just my opinion that generally speaking the NMRIH community is on the immature side(look at realtop reply, sounds like a 15 year old kid). And you just proved my point . Meh, you lost all respect for me?I don't know how i'll sleep at night now. AFAIK, Maxx isn't mod leader, Coleman is! PS> i've seen Copet post enough to know his mature.   3. Not dumb, maybe abit naive and unpractical kinda like Obama foreign policies. Even if you guys manage to get money, who do you pay and who do you leave out? Once the money runs out, they aren't going to work for free. Beside freelance 3D artist are expensive, i charge 60 USD/hour.
  4. dForce, I was once apart of the mod team in past(don't know what year), and i'm pretty sure i didn't insult anyones art(2D,music,3D). Do you have a website with samples of work? Your right about the community, they generally are immature(looks at Mute). IMO there's just too many things wrong with this mod. 1) A leader, should most definitely actually do something productive(2D,3D,music,maps,etc). In other words, never work on a mod where the head guy does nothing. 2) Always ask for a up-to-date copy of the programmers work, or better yet have a FTP server where the programmer can upload his code often. On that note, i would suggest modding Left4Dead, since all the zombie elements are already there, this will make it easier on the new programmer(if you get one, they are rare..wait i know 2 programmers(one professional Ubisoft, and newbie)). 3) Immature behavior, yea it happens even in the developer forum(i'm not going to name any names,because this is not a e-penis contest) 4) Last but not last, time. the team members are too young, which is why they don't have enough time for NMRIH and life. 5)Scope; too many gameplay ideas to implement, focus on one first,tweak it until its right.
  5. modding Left4Dead would be a nice idea since it has all the zombie elements in place, but that would still require a programmer

Anyway, here is the male mesh, decide not to unwrap the UVs, because most likely it'll be used for sculpting or modify which well distort or destroy the UV. This is free for non commercial or commercial usage. http://www.mediafire.com/?pndznusylns fixed first issue, but having a 5-side is not a bad thing alot of professional artist have that. In fact in edgeloop modeling ala Bay Raitt you always get 5-side and triangles. feel free to give me some direct crits by modifying it and posting up your take on the mesh flow. Now i should start on a female mesh.
  7. agree, the hand is abit too big. I scale it down. I'm still tweaking the vertices and still have to unwrap the UVs. @Blind, Thanks! i am slowly getting better
  8. I'd like to say i freelance but that job hasn't kick in yet, hopefully sometime this year. I'm mostly using my free time to work on my demoreel. Once that is done..i plan on applying for a job with Project Offset in Newport Beach. www.projectoffset.com
  9. This is a model im working on, it'll probably be release for free so anyone can use it, modify it for commercial or non commercial usage. My point is why re-invent the wheel? I'll probably have a fat guy, old man mesh also and their female counter part later on.   11. Just a quick 6 hour video on how to do subdivision surface modeling, the subject matter a cell phone. In this video, i'll go over modeling a cell phone with SDS(subdivision surfaces), sorry no audio. Total run time is close to 6 hours, 8 part video. I use Luxology Modo 302, but you can follow along with any other 3D software. Something i do often in the video is turn a good old quad into 2 triangles(no i'm not crazy) : in figure A. you'll notice this nice quad poly. The problem is the smoothing along the bevel part isn't quite right. In figure B. i select 2 point and connect, this creates a valence 4 vertex( a vertex with 4 edges sticking out of it), the blue arror shows the the new tension direction, this results in a slightly better bevel smoothing.   12. You might want to shrink the head abit also...err i should of mention that in my last post..but i forget! Thats the thing with 3D, gotta make sure your model is just right, or else you'll have to tweak the mesh and redo the UV map. I love every minute of it though. And if you plan to sculpt, you should sculpt first, then do the UVs last, for obvious reason.
  13. You need some glasses maybe? You don't create anything in it, obviously. Not alot of info, at best it'll be good for realtime architectural walk thrus..which is a huge market in itself. big whoop indeed, since only a few actually implement it..maybe RockStar should implement it into GTA4 also, before pissing on other engines? Yup, not alot of engines do screen space AO, Source being one of them. Recently, Epic's GOW2 demo Screen Space AO at GDC 2008. However this engine AO looks alot better than other implementation...maybe better then Crysis. Also notice the displacement shader...very nice!
