  1. All, I was able to create a VPK containing Happy's sound mod using the above posts Insurgency VPK guide as a reference. As of today the sound mod is working in NMRIH Steam v1.7.10. I have emailed Happy to let him know I have a VPK available if he is interested in putting it up for download.
  2. Happy Little Trees., This may help you! http://www.playinsurgency.com/forums/topic/3269-how-to-vpk-files-easy/
  3. Thanks for your response I can't wait to see this mod working with Steam v1.07 as it adds so much more to the games atmosphere... It's 100% better than vanilla firearm audio (especially the .22 calibers) Thanks again!
  4. Ok I found the /sound folder listed in the nmrih_dir.vpk using GCFScape but I assume the files are split across all the vpk's (nmrih_000.vpk through nmrih_015.vpk) So my question is... Is there a way to import the sound mod sounds into the current VPK's? I lack the skills to tackle this alone. Anyone out there have any suggestions or want to give it a try? This sound mod was really awesome in non-Steam downloaded NMRIH
  5. All the exploding zombie heads are just a bit too much. Its feels like every headshot I make is like a Barret .50 cal rifle vs a watermelon. High velocity rifle calibers?? ok, I'll accept.... 00 buckshot?? definitely... 357 mag?? ehh, maybe.... 22lr, 9mm, and .45 Auto though aren't going to pop heads like pimples though. Also, the 10/22 rifle and mark III .22 target pistol sound like S&W 500 hand cannons! That really needs to be addressed. Oh....and hitting a zombie with an axe and seeing it fly 20 feet backwards is a bit of an immersion breaker as well. Just some constructive criticism from a gun nut who is in love with this game and wants to see it become even better

  7. Would really love to see this feature implemented as well
  8. Is there a way to get this working with the new Steam version 1.07 of NMRIH? Merging the new sound folder with the original sound folder does nothing because the original sound folder is empty except for a "sound.cache" file. I am doing this under to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\nmrih\nmrih\sound\ The only existing file in the original sound folder is "sound.cache"
